I was vacationing in Rome for 5 days recently with my family of 4 , the day we checked out from the first hotel to go to Fiumicino airport to go back to LOndon is the day all flight cancelled due to the snow blizzard in london.We decided to go back to the city as it was quiet early day. we booked this hotel from the agent in the airport and we were looking for the 4 star hotel, Hotel Bolivar was the best recommendation by the agent. the shuttle took us to the hotel i am a little shock to see the location as it hidden and how small the room is for double and two extra bed.

The room for 4 was very small it almost cramped as we have another 4 big luagages with no corner to keep.each of us put our luagage near to our bedside. we werent to bothered as its only for 1 nights but we did not manage to washed properly as the shower wasnt working at all.

Otherwise the location is GREAT, away from the noises of a cars accept few people talking passing through the step.Easy to find a places to eat. And the staff is friendly and helpful.

We stayed here for 3 nights on hotel points, so it was a good deal. First the location was great! You can walk to any site from this location, very central! We arrived on New Years Eve, so the hotel was fully booked. We were put into an old room as described in some earlier reviews...I was not too happy and asked to be moved. The guy at the front desk was nice, but he said there's nothing open that night, but he'd move us the next day. That was fine, it was NYE afterall and I didn't expect anything to be open anyway. He offered to show us the room he'd move us into the next day, so we went and took a look. To my surprise, the room was occupied with the guest's personal belongings in the room when he invited us in to take a look. I mean, the front desk guy was in there with us the whole time so it's not like we could have taken anything...but it's still wierd. The room we got the next day was much nicer, very updated. I loved the painted cieling and the decor. The room was tiny, but I was expecting that. The best part was the breakfast! The room where they served breakfast had a very nice view. The breakfast was better than the other Italian hotels we stayed in. There were hot foods and fresh pastries. I like that I could make real toast instead of just the packaged fake toast(although that's available, too). Overall this was a nice stay. It was a great deal since we used hotel points and it was NYE so that's even better. I wouldn't have paid what they were asking for for the nights we were there, but would maybe pay their low-season rate and stay there again.

Hotel was clean, staff helpful & friendly and appearance of hotel from outside & reception area was nice. Room clean, decor was basic but in keeping with the area. Room also has a safe in the cupboard which is free to use. Toilet small but adequate. Hairdryer mounted on toiler wall but not very good as it was really old fashioned and kept cutting out (much to the annoyance of the wife) so would recommend you take your own dryer. Breakfast was good with all the usual continental offerings plus scrambled & boiled eggs.
Hotel is centrally located for all the main tourist attractions.
Approx 10 mins walk from the Termini station, 10mins too the Trevi fountain & Spanish steps, 15mins to the colosseum & 25mins to St Peters & Vatican. All walks take you buy loads of great sites so worth walking.
Ensure you agree Taxi prices before you get in as they will try to rip you off (22 euro fron Termini station to hotel which is only 2.5 km away).
Hotel has free tourist maps at reception which make finding your way around Rome easy.
Good hotel in a good location, would recommend it.

This is a great hotel for the price. The rooms are small but very comfortable. The bathroom is large with plenty of hot water. We were there in Jan so air condition was not a factor and there was more than enough heat. The staff went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed. After talking to us in English they knew what we wanted and suggested some tours. The Vatican city was one of them and they took care of all tickets and reservations.
The breakfast that is included was abundant with fresh breads and meats, cereals and pastry. Milk, juice, coffee and teas.

The entrance is first rate, but you do enter from a tiny road of about 50 feet. It looks like a dead end and then you turn the corner and there it is. I will post pictures later. Most of the roads in Rome and Florence are tiny and look like they go nowhere, but at the end you either get another alley type way or a huge open piazza.

You will save a bundle because this Hotel is within walking distance of all old Rome. Only the vatican City is a taxi ride away.

Hotel Bolivar has it all. It is not a resort, it is a hotel.

We stayed there for 3 nights and then went to Florence and came back to Hotel Bolivar. This time they gave us a new renovated room. Room 106. Fantastic with a brand new mural ceiling painting and 3 beds. (Two pushed together) Both rooms are a steal in Rome.
Internet access is a 7 euro charge for one hour. However, there are internet cafes that charge 1 euro for 15 minutes.
