“Good value and location”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 24, 2013

Stayed for 3 nights with my wife. Hotel is centrally located by the main train station (train to main airport costs 12 Euro per person or you can pay 48 Euro for car service from hotel which was cheaper then taxi from Airport, as that costs 60 Euro - fixed fee) which also is the site for intersection of the two subway lines in Rome as well as a bus terminal. The hotel was going through renovations so if price stays the same it is a good value (we paid 150 Euro per night).

Good:
- location 5 minutes away from the main train station and subway stop (location where the only 2 subway lines in Rome intersect - Red and Blue)
- included continental breakfast and internet
- very friendly staff

To improve:
- very slow internet, it took a while to just check email
- small gym, only one treadmill and stationary bike / free weights but only up to 20 pounds
- last night temperature of the water was fluctuating while taking a shower from cold to very HOT ... likely caused by the ongoing construction / renovation

We enjoyed our stay at this hotel. It was off season so thru booking.com it was well priced. The hotel staff at the desk was very helpful in getting us soccer (calcio) tickets to a Lazio game. The breakfast was good too. It is ideally located right by termini station.

We travelled with a group, but this hotel is close to the railway termini, metro, bus station, that travelling alone makes it a good location.
The hotel is clean, tidy and well maintained
Our room was adequate, some noise from the streets, but you are in the centre of Rome
Great shower, powerful and moveable head
The air conditioning is cenrally controlled, so not sure what it would be like in the summer
reception staff are helpful, re buses, metro etc
bars & restaurants nearby
makes this a good place to stay

We stayed twice, at the begining and end of a trip to Tuscany. Obviously an old building, room for our first stay much smaller than for our second, but spotlessly clean. Breakfast more than adequate, polite, respectful, friendly front desk & bellmen. Great location. Unfortunately, the roof garden bar was closed for winter, but looked lovely.

The hotel is very handily located by the Termini train station and is a good 20 - 30 minute walk to the forum/ colosseum. However, I like to go wandering when on holiday, so that didn't bother me.

The hotel room wasn't the best - it was old and could do with an update, but that said, it was spotlessly clean and that's all that I care about. The bathroom had a problem with the sewage (there was a funny smell coming from the toilet) so we slept with the window open - which was a problem with the sheer volume of traffic near the hotel pretty much 24hours a day. That said, after the bottle of limoncello I'd brought with me from Sorrento, I didn't mind too much ;)

The staff were very friendly, the rooftop bar a nice way to relax upon our return to the hotel and the breakfasts were reasonable.

There is a good chinese restaurant literally around the corner from the hotel - its on the side street adjacent the hotel. A godsend when I just needed something different from Italian food and very reasonably priced.

Stayed at the Hotel Nord Nuova Roma for three nights and regretted the choice. Rooms are terribly run down, with no view, dingy, bad air conditioning and indifferent service. The only thing is its location near Termini Station but then you can find much better hotels in this area. At any cost avoidable.
