We found this hotel to be just what we needed. We travelled with two very small children and the staff were friendly and helpful (unlike the rest of Rome which seemed to be full of people unwilling to help tourists). The area was a little 'seedy' - but then we found most of Rome to be the same! We never had a problem with the shuttle bus - we always managed to get on. The Metro was fantastic and cheap. We were deposited right out the front of the major tourist attractions within minutes of leaving Ponte Mamalo station. The supermarket near the hotel was a real eye-opener for these Aussies - we had tonnes of fun trying out all the interesting foods we found, we saved heaps of money stocking up on softdrinks and snacks and it was great to get out and be amongst the people who live in Rome. As we had the children, we didn't go out at night, except for a trip to the pizzeria around the corner (delicious)! This hotel might be a problem if you were wanting to tour Rome by night as I imagine taxi fares to the hotel would be very expensive. Breakfast was yummy and plentiful, great coffee too. For a group of travellers (with a double pram) who wanted to save money for spending, this was a perfect retreat. We have recommended it to close friends as a great option for those travelling with children. We would DEFINATELY stay there again (if we're lucky enough to return to Rome!)
