Overall a very clean hotel but getting a little worn around the edges and using bright colours to hide a 70's decor. Its miles from anything but the Borghese Gallery (a must see!), especially food although we managed to find a couple of restaurants (I'll review in restaurant section); a problem as they dont serve dinner except to tours. Count on a good 30-45 minute walk to central sights (I am a fit walker who normally runs 6kms a day). (A round walking trip from the Albani to the Colosseum, across to Trastevere and back by the river past the Vatican is about 18km by the pedometer)
Biggest disaster is the bus/cruise tour groups that the hotel is mainly for. No noise control as the big groups congregate in eachothers rooms, no space at breakfast, queuing at reception to do anything including picking up your key.
Big room but the smallest tv in the world (luckily not what i came to Rome for)
Not particularly friendly staff but put this down to the impersonal dealings on a constant basis with the tour groups
