We just got back from our honeymoon and had a great time at the hotel. We stayed at this hotel for 8 days / 7 nights and our room was located on the 3rd floor. I would have given this a 5 but we had several issues.

Let me start off with the good news. The hotel is literally near the Trevi Fountain... about a 30 second walk. You cannot hear all the noise from the crowds which is great. This is pretty much walking distance from all the site seeing monuments except for The Vatican (which we took the Metro). The hotel was up to date and sort of trendy. The concierge, registration, and bellmen were very nice and helpful. The rooms were always clean and tidy. The A/C worked but we kept it off since it was cooler at nights and we always kept the drapes closed. We only used the free continental breakfast twice. The eggs and bacon reminded me of a Las Vegas hotel buffet. Don't know if you want to count that as good or bad.

Now for the bad news. We had 2 issues: the noise in the morning and our "mysterious" disappearing clothes.
In the morning around 9am, you can hear housekeeping moving the furniture around everyday like clock-work. It's the same noise you hear when you move a wooden chair across a wooden floor with the vibration. Well, that kept us up since we were still jet-lagged.
The second issue was on our 7th day there. We got back from shopping near the Spanish Steps and realized that ALL of our personal stuff on the desk has been rearranged. Not a big deal but after 6 days of not moving our personal items around, this day was different. My Timothy Ferris book was now on the nightstand table instead of the main desk (remember it hasn't moved in 6 days from the desk). Our dirty clothes were moved around (we had stacked them in piles) and my wife's shoes / slippers were rearranged... except for her Nike shoes (the ones that has 4 springs on the heel). We literally found them behind the drapes we never opened. Her Nike's were originally with all her shoes and slippers. That was not all... When we got back to LA on Wednesday, we wanted to separate the clothes for laundry and noticed that her Banana Republic skirt was missing. We always make it a habit to comb through the room when we leave any hotel room and we obviously combed through this room since we do live 6000+ miles away. We called the hotel (an international call, no 800#) at 12pm PST Thurs (which was 9pm Thurs in Rome) to let them know that we "left a skirt in our room" and they said to call back tomorrow morning. I called back at 11pm PST (which was 8am Friday) and the receptionist said he will find out with housekeeping and to call back in 30 minutes. My 3rd call back just told me that housekeeping found "nothing". This hotel is managed by ReMar Hotel and I tried to file a complaint but nothing was on their website except for the hotel's information. That won't do anything for us.

All in all, the hotel deserved a 5 for its location, 4 for their concierge, registration, and bellmen, and a 0 for their housekeeping. We're just glad that all of our valuables were put in our in-room safe and nothing else was taken. For being a 4 star hotel, I would have thought this kind of thing wouldn't happen.

we were on a flying visit for 2 nights so location was really important and on that we couldn't have asked for better, so close to the Trevi fountain you could take your morning shower there...minutes walk from the shops, spanish steps, patheon and even Piazza Navona was only a 10-15 walk away and for the colliseum and vatican..well i'm sure you could walk it but when the hotel is only 500 metres from the metro which stops at all the major sites at 4 Euros for a 24 hour pass its hardly worth burning those extra calories unless of course you need to make room for more of the local food!

The hotel itself - if you are looking for a hotel of presence & architectural grandeur (like Rome itself) then this isn't for you, it is however a nicely average 4* hotel with reasonable facilities. We have no complaints, the room was clean, we had a nice corner room with a lounge area, high airy ceilings, bathroom with shower and bath, not to mention his and hers sinks, but having stayed in some world class hotels i can't help but feel i should have got more for my euro....perhaps this is just the cost of Rome! If you are looking for those little finishing touches....fresh orange juice rather than over sweetened concentrate from a machine, hand towels that didn't resemble hard fabric table clothes, and sound proofing that stopped the early morning deliveries waking you up then pay the extra and go for a 5* but there is no disputing that this is the ronseal wood stain of hotels....average/good but noisy 4* in a good location - 'it does exactly what it says on the tin!'

We stayed at the Hotel Delle Nazioni between 4-10th August. We had a great week at this hotel.

We could not have picked a better hotel. The location is brilliant everything is in walking distance. Everything of interest is not more than a 20 minute leisurely walk and i mean leisurely. The trevi fountain is at the end of the street, about 50 steps.

Everyone says that Rome is quiet during the summer because all the Romans disappear and let me tell you this had me worried at the beginning of my holiday. Sure a lot of the little tobacco shops were closed but we didnt even notice. Tourist shops are aplenty, restaurants were all open and all the sights were open. Tours of the city and Italy still run every day.

The Manager of the hotel, was kind enough and booked all of our tours through Green Line Tours and everything went off without a hitch. The bus for the tours was always on time and the lovely staff even brought us a breakfast bag each before our long 3hr coach journey to Florence.

The breakfast were excellent nearly everything you can imagine, Cheese, hams, eggs, bacon, croissants, cereals, fruit, toast etc. The room itself was perfect for us, however there was no iron which we would have liked.

We cannot thank Hotel Delle Nazioni enough for our stay.

I had a lovely stay in this hotel between 16th and 22nd August 2008. It is perfectly located for a visit to Rome, being within easy walking distance of many of the main visitor atttractions, and with easy access to transport links to further away sights. The Trevi fountain is literally 1 minute walk away, the Spanish steps, the Pantheon and the Piazza Venetia only 5 minutes walk away. There is a supermarket directly across the street, and another about 100 mtrs away. There is an ATM next door and another straight across the road.
The hotel is very quiet, it has a bar and restaurant attached but they weren't very busy while I was there. I did eat in the restaurant one evening and was very satisfied with the food and the service.
Breakfast was continental buffet-style, with scrambled eggs and bacon available. Very satisfying. The hotel also provide breakfast boxes to take away if you are taking a day-trip with an early mornign start - you just need to arrange it with reception.
My room was very comfortable, although it was quite small. The bathroom had a shower cubicle, but no bath. There was hot water available all day long. The bed linen and towels were changed every day. The reception staff all spoke good English and were very pleasant and helpful.
My one complaint is that my room overlooked a side street and there were lorries and vans and workmen making a racket every morning from before 7:00am. They were working on renovation of a building further on down the street so they aren't a permanent fixture. It wasn't a big deal really as, to get the most out of a visit to Rome, you need to be up and out early anyway.
I would definitely stay here again and would have no hesitation in recommending Hotel Delle Nazioni to others.

We had a three day stay at this hotel, the best we have stayed in, perfect location to explore the city, seconds from the Trevi fountain, we walked everywhere from the hotel. The rooms were spotless, and the marble bathroom was beautiful with bath, shower and double basins. I believe the hotel has been renovated in the last couple of years and boy what a great job they have made of it ! Breakfast was in a continental self-serve style but the variety and quantity was astonishing, allowing us to try all sorts of typical Italian foods along with familiar items.
We had a triple room set on the corner of the 3rd floor with really large shuttered windows, the single bed was set in a divided room with sliding doors with its own TV table etc, The double bed was enormous!!!
When we were there the average temperatures exceeded 36 degrees and we really appreciated the excellent air conditioning system throughout the hotel and particularly in our own room, a haven when things got really warm.
