We stayed in this Hotel (room 313), this week Jun-09 and feel that it was a nice place with some shortcomings.
Cleanliness was OK, but not perfect. usually a sign that the staff are not given enough time rather than a lack of diligence. Dust was collecting under the bed when I checked just before leaving. The shower was rather old and stained but very effective. Towels were changed daily but the consumables were not replenished.
Location: The location is really, really good. about 200 mtrs south of Ottaviano San Pietro Metro Station. and about 500 mtrs north of St Peters Square.
The rooms: were a little smaller than you would like, for the money - £100 per night. also they were quite basic, with just a dining type chair to sit on, a wardrobe two bedside tables with lamps and twin beds. There was a mini-bar with all the normal contents. Only one pillow when we checked in and another was not available until the next day. The bathroom sink lacked a plug but, again, one was supplied, the day after one was when requested. The windows were double glazed, so noise was not a problem and the air-conditioning was effective.
Service: As we were staying on a B & B basis the only meal was breakfast which was pretty dismal. No fresh fruit, No fresh meat, No toaster and all the bread rolls seemed to be hollow. A lot of cake was available. The cereals were not to our tastes but some may have found them completely acceptable. As with most European hotels No coffee was provided in the rooms Any verbal communications were dealt with in a friendly and manner.
Value: As mentioned earlier, the price was a bit on the high side for the standard, but overall taking location, mostly, into account, I feel that the scales were pretty evenly balanced. I would recommend this hotel to a friend but with qualifications. then they can make their own minds up.
