Hubby and I checked into the Inn at The Spanish Steps and was taken to our self contained apartment down the street (7 mins walk). Due to problems with the hotels magnetic card, we moved back to their main building our last night and was given a lovely deluxe room. Pros on apartment - you feel like a local living in an old building, with small kitchenette and tea / coffee making facilities. Cons - A bit of inconvenience going to the main building for breakfast - personally, I'll skip it and get something in cafes dotted around.
Hotel was small boutique with personal service. The biggest plus was the location - it was so accessible to everywhere we wanted to go - Trevi fountain, Pantheon, Campo di Fiori, Spanish steps literally in front of you and gardens to the back. Shopping, eating and people watching at your doorstep. Wonderful introduction to our visit to Rome.

Just got back from Rome where me and my family spent a week at The Inn at the Spanish Steps. We were very pleased with this hotel. The location is superb right in via Dei Condotti, the center of shopping in Rome and just a few steps from the Spanish Steps. Easy to walk everywhere, charming place. We booked the Inn taking advantage of the special family offer (we are two adults and three children of 2, 7 and 14). Two of my children got free!!! Thanks to the site in Icelandic language we were able to book it very easily. We will book again if we will return to Rome.

After I had booked this hotel I have to say that I was a little concerned about the cost wich in this period of economy crises is not a second issue but I have to tell you that it was exceptional for a wide variety of reasons ... location, service, rooms, roof terrace, staff... all amazing. We checked in on a Friday evening after a very loooong flight and were upgraded to an executive room with a small balcony overlooking the Spanish Steps. The canopy bed was very confortable.. Bathroom had jacuzzi tub, shower, separate area for the commode and two sinks which made getting ready in the morning a breeze. The breakfast buffet on the roof terrace which was included in our room rate was delicious. All the espresso and cappucino you can drink. Fresh baked pastries, and American breakfast items like eggs and bacon.

When I return to Rome I'll stay here again without a second thought.It is worth every Krona.Takk fyrir!

We have just returned from five days at The Inn at the Spanish Steps. We were so happy we sent a thank you note to the hotel. After changing rooms (they were very helpful) we found ourselves in a sunny, cozy, antique filled room with a good amount of space and some lovely touches (fireplace, beamed ceilings). A note--the street is lively and noisy. Great for walking on but not for having a room above. The windows shut out the noise, but if you like an open window, day or night, ask for a room facing the back.
The location of the Inn is perfect, right in the center of shopping and endless trattorias/ristorantes, not to mention the obvious (the Spanish Steps right down the block)
The concierge service is perfect. Franco, in particular, was most helpful, suggesting wonderful places to dine. The entire staff is friendly, polite and very professional. We were delighted with their help and most appreciative.
Our favorite part of the Inn was the upstairs breakfast nook/lounge area. A lovely buffet breakfast (included) is served as you sit on comfortable couches and arm chairs (or outdoors, under umbrellas in warmer weather.) An early evening free buffet is offered as well, and provides an opportunity to meet and chat with other guests.
We found the Inn via Tripadvisor, so thanks to all who recommended it before me. Much appreciated.
