The best feature: The early morning breakfast on the rooftop.

The second best feature: The reliable bus to the center of Rome.

The worst feature: It's not walking distance to Rome, and sort of isolated by roads from anything interesting.

The second worst feature: The food in the restaurant was awful, terrible, not edible.

As for the non-functional air-conditioning, thin walls and small rooms: It's Italy - enough said.

Lastly, you will probably exprience the sometimes wonderfully helpful and sometimes irritatingly useless staff. If one person is not working with you, ask for another person. It's sometimes a case of language but just as often an attitude problem.

Caution: Get a bus pass from guest services before entering the bus or you'll be late and irritate the bus driver.

Oh, and Americans should make sure to lower their voices both in volume and tone in order to be treated with respect. Although we mean no offense, we are often simply loud, which is interpreted as rudeness.

Also, before you ask direct questions, ask permission: "excuse me, sir/madam, may I ask you a question?" It's simply polite in this culture so why not accomodate..."when in Rome" and all...

Sheraton Roma is a beautiful hotel and is a little distance from the city centre. The free shuttle in and out of the city was somthing good. The live music played in the evenings was good. The hotel was fun overall....although a little pricey

Not a great hotel. I have been to Rome several times and made a mistake staying at this hotel. Far away from the main area of Rome. Very overpriced.
The concierge and staff are not overtly rude - I basically felt like the prescence of the guests was a huge inconvenience and a little beneath them.
I got a great rate for the room from Hotwire. I told myself this would make up for the minor inconvenience of being outside of Rome. It didn't. Some days the bus didn't run. The pick up spot - in Rome-is WAY out of the way. One night it rained and the bus still hadn't come for 45 minutes past the schedule time. I grabbed a cab with some other hotel guests. You also have to pay for the shuttle every day. The food was ridiculously priced and just average.
I am from the East Coast and used to expensive hotels and meals but this was too much.I used room service a few times and the staff was very nice and efficien
Overall the hotel was a detriment to the enjoyment of my trip, not a plus.

Not bad just a little disappointment for this level of a hotel;
Room little shaby - in my room on the Executive floor water leakage stains on the celing and some wall paper in bad needs of redecorating.

A second half of May very hot, but the hotel pool not operating - to life saving guard has got the contract from June only
