I stayed here for 4 nights with my finance, we had a superior room on the 2nd floor.

It is basic accomodation and breakfast but it serves these functions very well, if you want a gym, swimming pool, fancy restaurant and other things dont bother with this hotel.

The hotel is decorated to a high standard, I have stayed in many hotels and feel qualified to state this! The rooms are probably small by American standards but perfectly adequate, the beds were comfortable and the bathroom was clean and in good order.

We also made good use of the concierge who was really helpful, suggesting places to eat, transport and booking trips during our stay.

Breakfast is served on the open top floor, you can see the Vatican from here and offers a really special experience. The food wasn't great however, the bacon and scrambled eggs more for the American traveller's taste than my British one but there was plenty to fill us up for all the walking ahead.

This hotel is the opposite end of the city to the airports, and as a result we could not find a taxi driver at Campino to take us there for the 30 euro fare. It is a 40 minute journey by taxi so you might want to take this into account.

I would recommend this hotel as it was really nice and within walking distance of the Vatican, Spanish Steps and Trevi Fountain if you are really fit :)

My husband and I have just returned from a stay in this hotel and I can say we were both very happy with our choice of accomodation. We stayed here following a week long cruise of the med and were delighted to see that everything was as detailed in hotel information. What really surprised us was how near we were to the Vatican. literally just 'round the corner'. There were plenty of restaurants to choose from and plenty of historical sites to visit all within walking distance. The Bus Tours main stop at St. Peter's Square is also very close for those who prefer to see the city from a height, it's well worth taking a trip on these as it gives an overall view of most of the popular historical sites.
Our room, although small, was all we needed to rest after a days sightseeing in this wonderfull city. I liked the decor of the hotel and found the male receptionist on our arrival very helpfull. We were also able to check into our room very early which was a bonus. I especially liked the idea of having breakfast on the roof terrace and the gentleman who served us was very efficient and polite although he had very little english!
All in all a lovely small, quaint hotel and we will be visiting again.

I am surprised by reading the reviews on this hotel. I stayed there for three nights and was not impressed by the reception staff. They were all men and did not offer us any assistance. Each time we asked for something we felt like we were being a bother and they had better things to do. Some of them wouldn't even take their eyes off the computer while we spoke to them. That kind of service is not acceptable to me. Our room was tiny. It barely fit two small twin beds. The bathroom only had a shower stall and it was barely big enough to take a shower in. Every time I turned around in the shower my arm would hit the water spout and the the water would turn cold. The carpet on the steps needs to be replaced. The breakfast food was okay but nothing to brag about. The scrambled eggs were horrible and the hard boiled eggs were way over cooked. Many of the utensils and plates had dried food on them. The only thing that saved this hotel was the location, the Filipino porter, and the gentleman that handled the breakfast terrace.

My husband and I have just returned after an exhausting 5 day city break in the Eternal City. This hotel was one of the highlights of our trip. It was so lovely to return to such a special environment after our days out sightseeing all Rome has to offer. On arrival our room was upgraded to a junior suite which was a pleasant surprise. The hotel is quiet, romantic, in a brilliant location near to the Vatican and to the local network of buses and metro which will take you anywhere you want to go. The concierge was extremely helpful and polite, we even checked into our room three hours early which is usually not the case with most hotels, but was no problem here. The breakfast on the terrace was wonderful, the hotel was spotless, all in all we had a splendid stay there.
