What lovely people at Hotel Dei Consoli. We arrived for a few days in Rome with our Mum who is in a wheelchair. The Hotel is very small, and we had to enter via a courtyard to access the lift, the hotel staff were wonderful. The rooms are very very small, but comfortable. When we were trying to make the room work for us and accommodate the wheelchair, the porter was great - take out a table, take the door off the bathroom - No Problem - done in a flash! The hotel has no restaurant which is a bit of a shame, but the restaurant accross the road were great, and we took the food onto the roof terrace which was lovely.
I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone. Wheelchairs are a bit of a challenge, but we managed due to the kindness, care and attention of the staff. The location is wonderful. We could walk to the Vatican which minimised transportation issues. We found a great handicapped taxi service which I will post on the general Rome site, which made life a lot easier.
The roof terrace is lovely and we took our pizza and wine there in the evening and enjoyed watching the sun go down over the etrnall city - bliss.
