This hotel was a good base for us. It was very clean and the staff was extremely helpful. Rooms were small, (we had a quad) but in line with what is available for Rome. The bathroom was very clean and a good size. Our only problem was that it was a little far from the historic center. All the sites were within walking distance but at the end of a long day the walk was a bit much. The good thing is that it's not to far from Termini and all the trains and buses that go there. We bought the Roma pass and took full advantage of the public transportation back to the hotel at the end of the day. The buses are easy to use as well as the Metro. I was hesitant to book in the Termini area but found that this hotel was in a perfectly good neighborhood, even peaceful! Breakfast was good with meats, cheeses and a selection of breads and sweets.

We were very pleased with our hotel choice. Staff very welcoming and helpful. Hotel smart and clean. Our room was somewhat small but we knew this on booking and importantly it was comfortable, clean and quiet with a good size shower. Breakfast good, my only critisism of our stay would be the orange juice was very watery - minor detail!
The small garden was an added bonus for a quiet cup of tea or drink at the end of a tiring day sightseeing. Situated out of the hub of things but still within walking distance of plenty of the major sights and.convenient for the Terminni , and plenty of restaurants nearby.

There are many hotels near Termini that can satisfy your needs for inexpensive accommodations within a fair price. The Astoria Garden however does this, but has a garden to add value to your stay. The rooms are smallish, but clean. The bat is well appointed, and not excessive.. but unlike other hotels in the Termini area... you go int the garden and enjoy the warmth of Rome with flowers and birds rather than stay in a small cramped room overlooking a busy street. There is a good size grocery store 1 block away for more than your basic needs (food, wine, beer, snacks and fruit etc), at local prices. The staff was very friendly with excellent English and helpful suggestions. I personally would stay here again in a heartbeat. If it were Winter and the garden not available, I am sure you could do as well elsewhere, but the opportunity to sit outside in a quiet lovely space made the hotel a special place for us.

My husband and I went for a weekend in Rome. The hotel is very good placed close to Termini. However I think it would not ne hard to find a more comfortable hotel just as close to Termini as Astoria Garden hotel!! The hotel is very clean and fresh, I give them that. BUT the rooms are extremely small so is the bathrooms. Our weiv was out to a school covered in graffiti, very noisy. The beds must be made of bricks, they are horribly hard!!!!!!!!! The breakfast was HORRIBLE!! Croissants and bread that felt like they had been out for a week, teethbreakers. I am deffinately not a complainer, I am easy to please, but this was just too much!! Even at 7.00 on a Monday the bread was just as bad. I am sorry I would never go here again and i recommend you to look at a nearby hotel!!!!!! There are MANY around in the same neighbourhood!!

Management response from Ulrich Blaswich, Front Office Manager

Dear SWEDDEY,
Thank you for having written your opinion wich is always fimportand for us. We are deeply sorry for reading your comments about our Hotel. I would like to ask you why don't you tell us nothing during your stay? Maybe we could help you if you had told us your problems. Regarding the view of our rooms we have rooms with a garden view and rooms wich are facing the street. For shure the rooms facing the street have not a nice view as the garden rooms. To guarante a room facing the garden customers can book a room for this category directly on our web side. Customers can send us a special request as well and in case we have a garden view avaiable we do all our best to help our clients. Unfortunately all our standard rooms are facing the street and the superior rooms are facing the garden and some of them are in the garden.
Your complain for the brakfast I can not understand. Every morning we get fresh Cornetti and Bread and the buffet breakfast is well accepted as you can see from other customers who had left a note in Tripadvisor.

Yes, there are a lot of other Hotels in the neighbourhood but nobody of them have a nice garden as we do. I hope we can welcome you back in the future and I will give you and your husband a room facing the garden.

For any further requests don't hesitate to contact us and wishing you all the best from Rome

We choose this hotel due to it location being close to the main central station which was the drop off for the transfer from the airport. The walk to the hotel is approx 5 minutes. We were not disappointed - the hotel was as we expected . It is a small hotel located down a quite road with a few near by restaurants. The front desk was very helpful - the room was clean and functional if a little small. The bed was very firm and the bathroom was also well presented and had a good shower. You could hear noise (television) from the next room but after all the sight seeing and walking it didn't keep us awake. The hotel has a small tropical style garden which would be nice to use in warm weather. Breakfast was basic continental style - nothing special
