Just come back from a week in Rome. We organised as independent travellers via email and needed special help and advice for an elderly parent in a wheelchair. Whilst Rome is not wheelchair friendly and the Hotel Barberini does not specifically cater for wheelchairs the Hotel staff could not have done more. They organised cars to and from the airport and a wheelchair hire especially for us.
The rooms are of a very high standard and the overall service we found 100%. The Hotel does not have a restaurant......... but who needs it with so many on the doorstep. Good varied (hot and cold) breakfast available in the rooftop breakfast room with superb views of Rome. Hot is limited to scrambled egg, rather fatty bacon and hot-dog sausages.
Location is 3 mins walk from the Trevi Fountain and only 10 to 15 mins from most other attractions. St Peters is a 15 Euro cab ride.
Hotel is a little expensive but reflected in the overall quality. It is not a drinkers hotel as bar prices are prohibitive and we never saw anyone buying alcohol. Bar or room snacks during the day are limited and also expensive. Eat out.
Would we stay again? Definitely. By the time we left we were on first name terms with all the staff and felt like family.

The hotel itself was very nice and modern, but the hotel room was robbed while we were out to dinner (less than 2 hours after arrival). There was no forced entry and the windows on the 4th floor are unreachable from the ground. The staff refused to call the police and refused to acknowledge that someone on the staff could do this. They got a laptop, cash, 2 ipod's and a cell phone.

If you have no valuables to be stolen, stay there, if you have any thing of value, go somewhere else.

We are just back from a lovely romantic honeymoon in Rome, where we stayed for 4 nights in the Barberini. Upon arrival we were greeted with champagne then showed to our room, which was bigger than I expected, as I thought most hotel rooms in Rome would be small, but it was fine. The location is great, just near a Metro line, about an 8 minute walk to the Trevi Fountain and near a bus stop where you can join many sight seeing tours, etc. There are some lovely restaurants just in walking distance of the hotel too. I'd highly recommend the Barberini to anyone staying in Rome.

If you're going to stay in Rome, stay at the Hotel Barberini. We booked 2 rooms for 5 people for 2 nights. I can't say enough about the great service, the fantastic location, and the hotel itself. The rooms aren't huge (few are in Europe), but they were a lot larger than we expected. Very comfortable, and very well appointed.

We booked directly with the hotel. The communication was excellent, they faxed us with our confirmation within a few minutes. On arrival, our rooms were ready for us, even though we arrived in the late morning.

Breakfast was wonderful, a fine selection and as much as you could want. The views from the breakfast room were wonderful.

When we wanted to get tickets for the hop-on, hop-off bus, the front desk just reached down and had tickets for us to purchase. How easy is that?

The location is close to the Trevi Fountain, and easy walking distance to most everything else, or you can just get on the hop-on, hop-off and go anywhere.

Right around the corner from the Hard Rock Cafe, and just up the street from a wonderful English Pub. Many restaurants in the area where you can dine right out on the quaint little streets.

When we return to Rome, we will definitely stay at the Barbarini again!

Just returned from the Hotel Barberini in Rome. Location is great as it is just off the Piazza Barberini which is in walking distance to many sights. I liked that is tucked away off of any main streets that can be very noisy. The room was small but very clean and nicely appointed. The rooms are soundproofed so sleeping was a joy. I am a travel agent and will be recommending this hotel to my clients travelling to Rome.
