Stayed in Rome for 3 nights and had 2 rooms. The hotel upgraded us to two adjoining rooms which were exceptionally large and well appointed. The bathroom was beautiful with a jacuzzi tub and shower. Rooms and entire hotel clean and welcoming. The location was excellent with easy walking to many sites. Especially close to the Pantheon and located in a very safe area near government buildings. Also right around the corner from the best gelato in Rome. Hotel staff great and they recommended two excellent restaurants. -- Ristorante Checco er Carettiere and Ristorante L'Angoletto. Only negative to the room was that you couldn't lower the heat in the rooms which were too hot. Front desk explained that the hotel controls the overall heat but we could open our windows which helped a lot. Would definitely stay here again when we return to Rome, but were spoiled by the rooms they upgraded us too. Check out their website for specials depending on the time of the year-- we were able to get a discount but November is a slow time.

Very classic yet functional hotel.

one might find the decoration a bit old fashion, but this hotel is really comfortable, the staff is top level (and could speak at least three languages), and the location is just perfect.

We have spent one week in November 2008 to visit Rome. This hotel is very good located beside the Italian government. You can ask to have a room with a view on this piazza. Very quiet. You can even visit the Trevi fountain every night if you want !

We stayed in room 207 that is a superior room. Very spacious, big and new bathroom, 1 queen size bed, 1 big flat screen, free safe, minibar, airco, Internet services, .... We were missing some heating as it was still very warm outside for the time of the year. But on our request, they added a mobile heater in the room that was just perfect to heat the room in the evening.

Breakfast is very good cf. Italian standards. I think the hotel has no parking space however but you should avoid using your car in Rome anyway.

The price is rather high but you are very good located and the staff is very helpful. This hotel is also a lot visited by government people so this should be a guarantee for its quality.

PS : 50m behind the hotel is the Gelateria Giolotti, one of the best Italian icemakers of Rome. Just perfect !

We stayed in the Nazionale for 4 nights in July to celebrate our 1st wedding anniversary. The hotel is located on a lovely pedestrianised area (therefore quiet!!) within very easy walking distance of many major sites. Check-in was quick and efficient and the lobby/bar area beautifully 'Italian'. Our room was relatively large with a small reception area and large bathroom with an excellent shower. We did have a problem with our room safe which was fixed in minutes by the in-house engineers. We found the area around the hotel very safe and full of excellent restaurants (explore the side streets for the best ones). The Nazionale is an excellent hotel which we would definitely return to on our next trip to Rome.
