We have spent one week in November 2008 to visit Rome. This hotel is very good located beside the Italian government. You can ask to have a room with a view on this piazza. Very quiet. You can even visit the Trevi fountain every night if you want !

We stayed in room 207 that is a superior room. Very spacious, big and new bathroom, 1 queen size bed, 1 big flat screen, free safe, minibar, airco, Internet services, .... We were missing some heating as it was still very warm outside for the time of the year. But on our request, they added a mobile heater in the room that was just perfect to heat the room in the evening.

Breakfast is very good cf. Italian standards. I think the hotel has no parking space however but you should avoid using your car in Rome anyway.

The price is rather high but you are very good located and the staff is very helpful. This hotel is also a lot visited by government people so this should be a guarantee for its quality.

PS : 50m behind the hotel is the Gelateria Giolotti, one of the best Italian icemakers of Rome. Just perfect !

We stayed in the Nazionale for 4 nights in July to celebrate our 1st wedding anniversary. The hotel is located on a lovely pedestrianised area (therefore quiet!!) within very easy walking distance of many major sites. Check-in was quick and efficient and the lobby/bar area beautifully 'Italian'. Our room was relatively large with a small reception area and large bathroom with an excellent shower. We did have a problem with our room safe which was fixed in minutes by the in-house engineers. We found the area around the hotel very safe and full of excellent restaurants (explore the side streets for the best ones). The Nazionale is an excellent hotel which we would definitely return to on our next trip to Rome.

I've been in this hotel for 3 days on Dec.06. with my husband and son. The hotel is very well situated in the heart of Roma, close to the shopping area and of course close to the interest places... The room was very big, nice hotel lobby and nice staff... Just excellent!

Stayed for 3 nights post cruise. Booked directly with hotel and Roberta was excellent to work with. Answered all questions promptly and assisted us with all of our plans.

Location is excellent as stated in other reviews. Would not stay anywhere else in Rome!! Perfect for teenagers with the family and we walked to the Vatican everyday and also to the Colessium.

Highly recommend staying at this fine hotel!!

It's been a few years since we were there but I wanted to put this review with my current TripAdvisor id....

We echo what all the other reviewers here have said...this hotel could not have been more perfectly located - we walked everywhere, from the Pantheon a 2 minute walk away to the Colosseum about 15 to 20 minutes, and too many other locations to mention. The room was spacious, all staff were very helpful (one even helped my now-fiancee be sure he had the correct words to ask my hand in marriage in Italian!) We booked our trip with Go-Today so this hotel was an upgrade in their package - and well worth it! Can't imagine what it would have been like to pay less but be at a hotel not as nice or central - it's the walking everywhere that really made the trip.
