THIS HOTEL IS IN A GREAT LOCATION IN THE CENTRE OF ROME IN A PEDESTRIANISED AREA. WITHIN EASY WALKING DISTANCE OF ALL THE MAIN ATTRACTIONS.
WE DROVE INTO THE CENTRE OF ROME AND PARKED IN A PUBLIC CAR PARK (WHICH WAS SURPRISINGLY WELL PRICED). FROM THERE WE COULD HAVE WALKED BUT WITH 3 KIDS IN TOW WE TOOK A TAXI.
When we arrived the porter was lovely and entertained the children while we checked in. Then up in a small lift we found our comfortable rooms (no views). They were lovely and spacious and the sofa beds were converted into kids beds.
A modern bathroom with complimentary shampoos etc.
As it is pedestrianised it was safe for the kids to have a run around outside.
The breakfast is good with lots of choice, if you need an espresso they will get you one if you ask.
There are plenty of eateries nearby and the ice ceams are wonderfully yummy!
Be careful though! We got caught out big time in the Vatican City, 6 sandwiches 2 bowls of chips and 6 drinks, £80. If you go away from the main streets you can reduce this by £20 and have 8 pizzas, 2 salads and drinks with wine in lovely restaurants. Same goes for coffee, 7euros in the squares 1 euro down the side streets.
Rome is lovely, an ideal city with children as everything is close by and the Roman history fascinates them. If they lose interest, get 'em an ice cream!!
Beware though some site including the cistine chapel close at 4pm. We missed it boo hoo....
