After reading some of the negative reviews on this site, I was a little apprehensive - but I was pleasantly surprised.

Service - The front desk guys were friendly and did the job and hotel cleaning staff always had a "buon giorno" for us. We asked for a taxi to the airport but were told they had a private driver who did that - for 50 euros (it was a Sunday). If you're not prepared to pay that, I suggest booking either a normal taxi outside of the Hotel or travelling via public transport.

Cleanliness - I'd read reports of dirty rooms, hairs in bathrooms, etc, but our room was clean. The towels were changed daily and the bathroom was kept clean.

Room - The room was ok, nothing broken or falling apart as reported, and the decor was clean and tidy. Only gripe were the beds, which for me were ok, but for my partner not so (he said they were uneven and uncomfortable). I guess it depends on how sensitive a sleeper you are. Which takes me to the noise issue - It *was* noisy outside and even with the windows shut, you had a feeling they hadn't closed properly. I slept with earplugs - but hey, I am in a busy capital city in a good location, so I can accept that there are going to be other people around :)

Breakfast - This was also mentioned as a negative point, but as most people familiar with Italy will know, Italians do not do breakfast, but prefer to drink a cappucino and eat something sweet "on the go" . However saying that, the breakfast in Priscilla is truly shockingly bad (awful coffee, pre-packed "rusks" and dry old white bread). If you don't want to go far, there is a cafe next door who sell delicious espressos and pastries!

Television - OK, I have to make a comment about this - I read complaints that the TV is only Italian and the only English channel is CNN. I don't understand this complaint - if you're in Italy, then expect Italian TV. If the TV is bad, then explore Rome instead of watching it :)

I would recommend Hotel Priscilla - it's nothing special, but it's not a dump and it's clean and does the job. Just avoid the breakfast and do as the Romans do :)

I'd advise you not to stay at the Priscilla, the beds are rock hard meaning none of us had a decent night sleep. Also there were a few rugby fans staying who were running round corriders and despite complaints the staff did little about it.

Definately not a 3 star hotel, more like a 1 or 2 - its quite far from main sites of Rome, with train station about a 20 min walk. Breakfast was ok, not great, the breakfast room was very cramped and squashed.

Only plus point were the staff who were very helpful (apart from rugby fans incidence) and friendly.

My husband and I just returned from Rome. We stayed at the Priscila. We bought it as a three star hotel. For my surprise, here they claim to bem a 4 star!!!! Never! It´s not more than a 1 star hotel. We stayed at 2 star hotels much better than the Priscila for the same price. The rooms are terribly small, you can´t move, the shower is all wrong, the plastic box around the shower doesñ´t close properly. The staff was very friendly, that´s for sure. It was really disappointing. The tv is not more than 14 inches and it´s way up high in the room, which means you can´t see a thing.

I usually do not let these reviews persuay me unless completely terrible, but I think the management should know how we felt about our stay. My sister and I were in Rome for three days and had a wonderful time, other than our hotel stay. We are not picky people and usually will find the fun and good in all, but this was not happening at Hotel Priscilla. Good Points - very good sized room, very good sized bathroom, good location (nice Itialian eateries, and an absolutely beautiful church 2 minutes away). Bad Points - rooms not that clean, breakfast not great (but we made due), view from our room was looking down at all the dumpsters, and last and absolutely worst point was the staff. I have to tell you that I have travelled alot and encountered all types, Hotel Priscilla's staff has to be the absolute worst I have ever dealt with. Not only were they not helpful, in fact sent us in many a wrong direction, but they literally rolled their eyes and became annoyed with our questions. Very unfriendly and not helpful. I am quite sure that this is not the case with everyone and some may have encountered nice, courteous receptionist, but that was not our case! Unless staffing changes occur I will not recommend this place to anyone!

The room here was okay, the location we didn't care for so much. A fair distance from Terminale train station, it was a long walk. Staff wasn't sympathetic that our tour was leaving prior to start of breakfast.
