Literally just back from a week away, we stayed 3 nights in Paris and last 4 nights in Hotel Hiberia, Roma.
My 1st impression on the hotel was great. Great location, nice bathroom, lovely comfy bed. Room was a little small but that was to be expected.
After the 1st night, myself and my partner woke up to what seemed to be "red marks" all over our legs, chest, arms. We thought it was due to walking all around Rome the previous day, so thought nothing of it. We have come to the conclusion after many days of irritating, painful marks that there were bed bugs in our bed.
We received 1 set of clean towels in 4 nights. Recpetion asked what time we would be leaving so our room could be cleaned on the 2nd day, we hurried out and returned to a "do not disturb" sign on our door (which we never had in the room so therefore could never use) and our room not cleaned/beds made.
The breakfast was ok, plenty to eat. As I mentioned, the location is perfect but I will not be returning to stay in that hotel again. I regularly go to Rome and stayed there as a friend had recommened it.
Oh becareful, on arrival, there was pringles, packets of nuts and wafer bars on the table. We presumed this was a lovely gesture, we were billed for them when we left!!!! We never used the mini bar, couldn't believe it,
Overall, great location - dreadful service/bed!

This hotel is just perfect. The location is very central, friendly staff who speak several foreign languages and not too big in the number of rooms. We were granted a big room in the front of the hotel. I guess this is not a standard room. My experience with Italian hotels is usually small rooms. So, or we were lucky or it was just off season. Anyway, we were pleased with the space in the room and jacuzzi in the bathroom. Elevator is located along the staircase and is small but fits the old building. Breakfast was ok, not very special. But on the other side of the hotel there is a perfect snack bar with delicious sandwiches and coffees.

We have just returned from a 4 night break to the beautiful city of Rome & stayed at Hiberia Hotel. This hotel is so central to all of the main sights in Rome. We were approx 10mins walk to the breathtaking Trevi Fountain in one direction and heading the other direction we were just over 10mins walk to the Colessuem. We stayed on the 4th floor in room 420 and we were pleasantly suprised by the quality and size of the room. I had read so many reviews saying that the hotels in Rome were tiny and not so nice but this room while basically furnhised was very comfortable. The bathroom was nice and big, the only negative was that there was no shower curtain but the power of the shower was great! The room had a tv & mini bar which came in very handy. Breakfast was served from 7-10am and there was plenty on offer, cereals, fruit, yoghurts, crossaints, other pastries, boiled eggs etc. so we were more than happy with this. If you require a room with a stunning viewing you could ask for room 418. We managed to sneak and peak whilst it was being cleaned and the views were fantastic for an extra €30 per night. As I mentioned above this hotel is a really excellent hotel in terms of location. there are a couple of irish bars not so far from the hotel either. We literally walked everywhere but there is also bus stops at the top of the street that take you to the vatican city and termini station. Overall I would highly recommend this hotel and if returning to Rome would definitely stay at this hotel.

  • Liked — It was great price and very central hotel in city centre
  • Disliked — There was no shower curtain and the lift in the hotel was hit & miss!

Excellent location within walking distant to all places of interest.
Hotel is clean, fresh and very welcoming staff. excellent english and all very hepful.
Our room was a corner room with views of the city. A comfy bed and large Shower room.
We loved the Old Wooden lift.
The breakfast was very good with lots of choice.
The evening meals were very nice too and a good price.
I would certainly stay here again and for a 3 star hotel it is a good price for the location.

We have just returned from our trip to Rome, Italy. Our group consisted of myself, my two daughters, and a good friend. We had a reservations at the Hiberia Hotel, and we couldn't have been more pleased. Upon arriving, we found the staff to be courteous and informative. Although my daughter is very knowledgable concerning Rome, itself, having lived there and speaks Italian quite well, the staff was happy to try their English out for us. We especially enjoyed the gentleman who kept calling us "lady".

The room was very clean and an adequate size for a regular twin bedroom. My daughters had a room with a double bed and a walk-in shower. The rooms were cool as we were able to maintain the A/C ourselves. Although my friend and I shared a room at the front of the hotel, we found it to be quiet regardless of the traffic. We did not try the jacuzzi tub as it didn't look like it would be too accommodating; however, the bidet was a "hoot". Breakfast was exactly what we needed to start the day. The eggs were especially delicious.

The location is ideal as it is an easy walk to the many of the tourist sights in addition to the bus stop for the #40 bus which goes to the Vatican area. It is a 15 minute walk to the Trevi Fountain, shopping, and a number of wonderful cafes. Upon departing, the staff was helpful in securing a limo to the airport.

There are two quaint pubs within a 5 minute walk from the hotel which we frequented. One serves fantastic sangria, and the other is an Irish pub called The Cork's Inn. We recommend that you try them after a long day of sightseeing.

I recommend this hotel.
