We have just returned from a 4 night break to the beautiful city of Rome & stayed at Hiberia Hotel. This hotel is so central to all of the main sights in Rome. We were approx 10mins walk to the breathtaking Trevi Fountain in one direction and heading the other direction we were just over 10mins walk to the Colessuem. We stayed on the 4th floor in room 420 and we were pleasantly suprised by the quality and size of the room. I had read so many reviews saying that the hotels in Rome were tiny and not so nice but this room while basically furnhised was very comfortable. The bathroom was nice and big, the only negative was that there was no shower curtain but the power of the shower was great! The room had a tv & mini bar which came in very handy. Breakfast was served from 7-10am and there was plenty on offer, cereals, fruit, yoghurts, crossaints, other pastries, boiled eggs etc. so we were more than happy with this. If you require a room with a stunning viewing you could ask for room 418. We managed to sneak and peak whilst it was being cleaned and the views were fantastic for an extra €30 per night. As I mentioned above this hotel is a really excellent hotel in terms of location. there are a couple of irish bars not so far from the hotel either. We literally walked everywhere but there is also bus stops at the top of the street that take you to the vatican city and termini station. Overall I would highly recommend this hotel and if returning to Rome would definitely stay at this hotel.

  • Liked — It was great price and very central hotel in city centre
  • Disliked — There was no shower curtain and the lift in the hotel was hit & miss!

Excellent location within walking distant to all places of interest.
Hotel is clean, fresh and very welcoming staff. excellent english and all very hepful.
Our room was a corner room with views of the city. A comfy bed and large Shower room.
We loved the Old Wooden lift.
The breakfast was very good with lots of choice.
The evening meals were very nice too and a good price.
I would certainly stay here again and for a 3 star hotel it is a good price for the location.

We have just returned from our trip to Rome, Italy. Our group consisted of myself, my two daughters, and a good friend. We had a reservations at the Hiberia Hotel, and we couldn't have been more pleased. Upon arriving, we found the staff to be courteous and informative. Although my daughter is very knowledgable concerning Rome, itself, having lived there and speaks Italian quite well, the staff was happy to try their English out for us. We especially enjoyed the gentleman who kept calling us "lady".

The room was very clean and an adequate size for a regular twin bedroom. My daughters had a room with a double bed and a walk-in shower. The rooms were cool as we were able to maintain the A/C ourselves. Although my friend and I shared a room at the front of the hotel, we found it to be quiet regardless of the traffic. We did not try the jacuzzi tub as it didn't look like it would be too accommodating; however, the bidet was a "hoot". Breakfast was exactly what we needed to start the day. The eggs were especially delicious.

The location is ideal as it is an easy walk to the many of the tourist sights in addition to the bus stop for the #40 bus which goes to the Vatican area. It is a 15 minute walk to the Trevi Fountain, shopping, and a number of wonderful cafes. Upon departing, the staff was helpful in securing a limo to the airport.

There are two quaint pubs within a 5 minute walk from the hotel which we frequented. One serves fantastic sangria, and the other is an Irish pub called The Cork's Inn. We recommend that you try them after a long day of sightseeing.

I recommend this hotel.

My wife and I stayed at the Hiberia Hotel for 4 nights from 26 July to 30 July 2008.
The hotel is conveniently located in a quiet road just off via Nazionale, close to the Piazza Venezia side. We were given a spacious triple room, with 2 balconies, and a nice bathroom.
Everything worked perfectly fine. We just had a slight problem with the internet connection (upon check in we understood it was for free while the management told us the following day it was at a charge). At any rate, they gave it to us for free with no discussion whatsoever: very professional!
Breakfast was good, with scrambled eggs, italian salame and prosciutto, fresh croissant, bread, cakes, cereals, fruit juices, yogurt, and fabulous Italian coffee.
Check in and check out were speedy and hassle free.
Only little problem was the lift, which had a tendency of breaking down, but it was fixed fast enough.
Overall very good value for money and a very good experience.
We had been there before and will return.

  • Liked — Location, room, quality price /rapport
  • Disliked — Somewhat cumbersome internet connection, lift slightly on the flimsy side.

Small hotel, decent rooms, nice bathrooms. We were there in the summer heat and the air condition wasn't super powerful, but adequate. The breakfast spread is pretty good and the front desk was very helpful and courteous. The elevator "lift" is old and small...sometimes its quicker to just walk upstairs
