“Nice hotel but hot in the room”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 9, 2012

This was the first hotel we stayed in on our Italian vacation. Not too difficult to find from the airport with our GPS and we got lucky and found a parking spot right in front of the building. It was a short 10 minute scenic walk to the Trevi fountain. The conceirge was helpful and spoke good english. I'm giving it a 4 because it was hotter than normal for this time of year and we didn't have air conditioning even though they advertised that they did. We had to open the window and it was quite noisy. The breakfast they served was very good and I loved the fresh sqeezed juices & cappacino's yum.

Room Tip: If its hot outside, AC is a must! (We're from FL and we were dying)

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Hiberia Hotel for 3 nights over the weekend and had a fantastic stay. The staff were friendly, the room was very cosy, clean and ideal for a city break. And the view from our window (room 418) was breathtaking. The location could not have been better, it's a short walk to some of the greatest sites and ruins the city has to offer and only a 10 minute bus ride (bus 40) to the Vatican. If you're only in room for a short stay there's a good chance you won't see much of the room with the amount of things to see and do. But when you are there it is the perfect place to rest. The brekfast was a great way to start your day of exploring too.

We also had a late departure flight on our last day and was able to leave our suitcases in a secure room so that we could get some last minute sight-seeing in.

Room Tip: We were in room 418 which had a fantastic view of the city and was completely quiet of a night.

Ok so the room was not massive, and the concierge's local eating advice was limited to the restaurant next door, which we later found out was also the breakfast venue. That was bad advice- the restaurant was no better than average.

But everything was clean and worked, the staff (Giuseppe) were attentive and friendly and the breakfast was very nice. We walked everywhere from this base, Vatican (35 mins), Trastevere (20 mins), Colosseum (5 mins).

Decent value, bar open 24 hours. What's not to like?

Room Tip: We found out later that we had the smallest room (there was a plan of fire escapes)-don;t go for 124...

Staff were very friendly. Good things: the room was super quiet (which is very impressive when you know how noisy the centre of Rome is). The drawback to this was the room was quite small and its bathroom was down the hall, but if thats the price I have to pay for silence it was worth it). Centrally located, and i had wifi in my room which was a bonus as I saw guests sitting in the lobby using the wifi. Breakfast is served in the agjorning resturant and while good and wouldnt recommend dinner there as there are a lot better little places around. Room make up was quick and efficient. I've stayed in Rome twice now and this place by far was the better of the two (Hotel Saturnia).

Room Tip: I stayed in 125. Very quiet, rather small.

This hotel is in an excellent location and the staff was amazing going out of their way to accomodate guests. We found them to always be pleasant and friendly Gisuseppe and Dino went above and beyond from booking tickets to tour the vatican, recommending restaurants and arranging a shuttle for 3am departure to get to the airport.

The hotel is a little noisy but if you want to be in the historic center this is almost to be expected.

Thanks to all the staff at Hotel Liberia including breakfast ladies, whom always greeted you with a smile.

Room Tip: Maybe request a room away from the main street as it is quite busy.

My husband and I stayed here, and unfortunately booked the room with the private bathroom down the hall - not ideal. Otherwise, however, the location was good for the site-seeing we were doing in Rome. The room was clean - though dated.
Everyone working at reception was very helpful.
