I arrived earlier than anticipated and check in was not until 14:00. The front desk were extremely welcoming and pleasant and checked to see if my room was ready (it was 10:00). They told me my room would be ready in one hour. However as I had some free time I decided to do some sight seeing and left my luggage. The Spanish steps and the popular upmarket shopping area of Via Veneto are just a very short walk away. I explored down as far the Vittorio Emanuelle monument where I then got on one of those hop on hop off sightseeing buses. I returned to hotel later that evening (the sightseeing bus actually stopped about 100 metres from the hotel (Villa Burghese). Again I was warmly welcomed with a smile and the check in procedure was dealt with very efficiently. The bell boy (Gianluca) then brought me to my room and showed me around. The room was lovely. Unfortunately they gave me a room on the first floor with no view at all but because I was only here for a job interview the next day this did not bother me. I did get the impression that if I wanted they would have provided me with another room. Quick point here the "superior room" is only a standard room, suggest the deluxe as this inlcudes a small terrace. The room is lovely though. Marble bathroom with double sinks. bidet etc. My only complaint about the bathroom is that it is a little small but still very nice. Excellent choice of on demand entertainment etc. Restaurant is quite expensive but has been awarded a michelin star so definitely worth going for a meal there. The restaurant has spectacular views of the Rome skyline particularly the Vatican & St Peters. Dont touch the minibar as you will very easily rack up the charges! I would definitely stay here again but would choose the deluxe room next time. *****
