“Overnight in Roma”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 24, 2013

Excellent location, 2 blocks from Rome's main train station. We showed up early for check in (like 10 am). By noon, they had our room ready which was a major plus. (They even held our bags for us till then.

The room was very large compared to all other rooms we stayed in on our trip (corner room, top floor). Lots of space to wind down. The bathroom was normal size, even for American standards. The hotel is decorated in a more classic style. This does not mean that the hotel is tired or worn down by any means; it is just a choice in decoration. However, since it is a bit old fashioned, there are not as many modern amenities like a universal plug in the bathroom or excercise room.

The breakfast in the morning was adequate, though it seemed that all the hotel guests seem to show up in the last hour of breakfast which makes the room quite crowded. Their juices seem to be fresh squeezed (lots of healthy selections). Those expecting a more American breakfast with bacon eggs and waffles or pancakes might be disappointed though.

The staff is very helpful. Although they did not have any adapters for American plugs, they did offer to charge our phones and ipads on their USB port off of their work computer

Room Tip: corner room are quite large

I was part of a party staying at the hotel for a 3 night weekend. The Hotel location is ideal for easy access to public transport, being 2 minutes from Termini. There are lots of Bars and Restaurants in the area. The hotel itself is very nice , unfortunately on arrival quite late on Friday evening they had reserved a Double room when it should have been a twin, however they did allocate a twin but it was very disappointing and also felt like it was 2km away from the lift. We think the room may have been a room to cater for wheelchair access, which is great that a hotel has such rooms. On request to be moved (due to the distance) to the front desk they were unable to do anything that evening but relocated us first thing the following morning to a twin room quite close to the lifts. Rooms were really clean. Room keys can be tricky but do work (eventually). The breakfast is very good for Italian style hotels with both hot food and normal Italian breads, cheeses and hams. The only complaint I would have is that the Bar doesn't cater for groups and the poor barman doesn't really like crowds and doesn't like to work too late ... I would stay here again just for its location.

Pluses:
Great location. Close to the train station, which is also the hub for the metro station. Lots of shops and restaurants are convenient.

Pretty nice place, very big, very busy.

Friendly staff.

Very nice and clean.

Minuses:

The bath room is tiny. Being from the US, I'd certainly trade that bidet for the extra space. The shower is hard to use without hittin the door constantly.

Free Wi-fi requires keying in an 8 digit id and 8 digit password every few minutes. I spend more time doing that that anything online.

The thermostat in the room is ornamental only, it seems. We slept with the window open so that it was cool enough to sleep.

Free breakfast is in the plus and minus columns. Good selection, lots of choices. But very runny scrambles eggs or boiled until they're green aroun the edges boiled eggs. Something bacon like but not at all crisp. Fresh italian bread to cut, jams, cereals, fruits, yogurt, etc. plentiful, just not great.

Stayed for 3 nights. Pros were that it was close to train station and wi-fi was free. We were given the wrong hotel room at first and had to move to another floor. Room keys were hard to operate. Had to have staff help us open our door on occasion. No 120 volt hook up. Was told to go "buy one" FYI - you can buy one at the train station. Breakfast was sub-par on all three days. Food and drink was not re-filled. You need to be there when the room opens or be disappointed. Paint peeling in breakfast room as well. No special attention at this hotel. Room really hot and could not control heat.

We were with a tour group to Italy. This is the hotel we stayed in Rome.Very close to the.Metro.The
Colosseum the Forum are straight walking distance from the hotel about 15 mins. On the way we visited the church of St Maria Maggiore. We took the metro back to the hotel. We also walked to the Pantheon and the Trevi fountain on another day.The hotel is at a very safe, close to a lot of Roman monuments and lot of bakery and many fine dinning.
Now for the hotel, nice big rooms, lighted, quite. The breakfast was good. The hotel had wifi .The staff was friendly.I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

Decent hotel with good location if you want to stay close to the main train station. Very hot room (+27!) and no possibility to turn down the temp. Friendly staff, though.
A piece of advice: avoid the hotel "limousine" that will be offered to bring you to the airport. I accepted this means of transport and found myself being brought, 20 mins late from the start, to the airport in a 8-seater bus in extremely bad condition. The trip ended with a flat tyre some kms from Fiumicino and I barely made it to my flight.
