Stayed one night after a week in Positano. Room was quite small, but super-comfy bed, nice amenities. Shower was awesome, great pressure and rainshower showerhead. The rooftop bar has THE best views of Rome and the adjacent Villa Borghese gardens, the service was a little slow and they had the bill wrong (although the corrected it). Nice balcony view over the gardens. Great location, in walking distance to most of the sightseeing.

Traditionally furnished hotel, that had a lovely Italian feel to it. The very clean and quiet rooms are on the small side, lovely comfortable beds and good quality linen, were a delight to sleep in after a long day sight seeing. The bathrooms were fine with nice selection of toiletries.

The friendly desk staff were excellent - on last day held our luggage and then taxied it over to meet us after our trip to Vatican so we could go directly to airport. Lots of info about Rome, tours, directions etc

Location was ok close enough to walk to Spanish Steps but taxi ride to other major sites.

Breakfast was not included and at Euro 25 per head was very over priced (went to cafe down the road for half the price!). Had meal in restaurant one evening food was excellent but empty of people and a bit depressing. Far better idea to go out for evening meal. Had lovely meal at Eden Hotel over the road - but again very expensive. Open air roof top bar had excellent views but a bit cold when we were there.

Overall a good standard and well run hotel for a site seeing base in Rome.

We stayed in this hotel at the end of a wonderful 3 week trip to Italy. The hotel was beautiful, the room great, the service fantastic. The location is a little far from spanish steps, long walk downhill (which meant uphill back). Every city and hotel we stayed in had breakfast included, and we were told at checkin to "enjoy the breakfast buffet" downstairs every morning. We did, but upon checkout were told it was $25 EU each! When we told them it was included, they stated it was not. Our travel agent was shocked as well as she thought it was included, as it was in all the other cities. The hotel was also the most expensive one we stayed in so the breakfast issue was really a shocker. There are other hotels in Rome just as nice with breakfast included, especially at 300 EU plus a night!

My husband took me for a 2 night surprise stay to celebrate a 'big' Birthday. This hotel was a dream from start to finish. The welcome from the front of house team was spectacular - warm, friendly and genuine. The suite (702) was amazing - grand yet cosy, with its own private terrace with stunning views of Rome. The rooftop bar is like a film set, we watched incredible sunsets over St Peters and watched the flocks of starlings perform firework-like flight patterns on the horizon. Minutes away from the Spanish steps this is also a perfect base for exploring the magical city. I had thought the Eden was the 'place to stay' - however it is now going to be the Sofitel Villa Borghese every time. Really delightful.

We stayed here our first night in Rome - then moved to the Daphne Inn because the price was almost twice as much here but we could not get a room the first night at Daphne.
Sofitel was nice, but a bit pricey for what it offered.
Service was very good, the bed was wonderful - concierge was quite helpful.
Sent us to a great little restaurant nearby for dinner (down near the wall by the Borghese but I cannot remember the name)
And Cafe de Paris on Via Veneto is a must - great coffee and pastries and sandwiches
