We stayed there for 2 nights from 18/10 to 20/10 due to business. The gave us a room in the first floor, that was rather big and clean. The location is fantastic with only a few minutes walk until roma center. But... the room was rather cold and they couldnt help us with the heating , the safety box was out of order they did not replace it althought we asked , so we had to carry all our money with us all the time, the bathroom was very noisy, because was really old, and the breakfast probably was the poorest but definitevely the worst we have ever tried. So for this kind of prices , simply dont stay there...

The hotel presents well from the street, main foyer and bar area, however, the corridors and rooms are very 'tired'.

The staff are generally friendly .... providing you do not ask questions. One concierge member became quite rude because I could not understand what they were saying.

This could become a great hotel again if it had a major renovation.

i stayed here in 2007 for 3 nights with my boyfriend, when we got there the hotel from the outside looked posh and the location was fantastic, the street it is on is the best street in Rome, very upmarket, it was a little bit out t he waybut we enjoyed the walk down the tree lined street and there was a tour bus stop just at the bottom of the road. it was lovely, and harry's bar is just up the road- very expensive but definately worth a visit!! when we entered the hotel the staff on reception were rude but we didnt let it ruin anything, one man was nice, he was showing us where to go etc and gave us a map. We had a little walk round and it really was lovely, we got to the room and wasn't as nice as expected but we did have standard room and we got it at a good price, we weren't in the room long anyway. it was clean but looked like it had been forgotten about. We went down to the pool one night, i thought the pool was really nice, it was lit up when we went in and there was only us there, it was was lovely. i know it has been a while since i stayed there but i just cant believe its become that bad. i hope it gets better

Boscolo Grand Palace has many things going for it - most obviously its location in the historic center and within walking distance to the Trevi Fountain and the Spanish Steps, However, it would be elevated with a facelift to the hallways and rooms, as well as making Internet available in the guest rooms. This was its biggest downfall for me - I travel for business and need Internet. At Boscolo Grand Palace it is only available in the lobby. Even at that, 1 of the 2 times I tried accessing it was it working.

Aside from this, the typical Italian standard for hospitality and service are found here. I cannot comment on the food as I did not eat here, but the cappuccino was the finest I have ever had. The room decor is dated, but adequate. There is much needed A/C in Rome. My room on the fifth floor even had a balcony. I might even stay there again, when they get Internet in the rooms.

Stayed here for one night – happened to coincide with the European Championship final, so the staff were perhaps ruder and unfriendlier than their norm. Generally the staff seemed extremely inconvenienced to have guests staying at the hotel.

We ended up in a room with an air conditioner that sounded like a tractor – after asking if we could change to another room we were told that as the hotel was fully booked we could either have a room with no a/c (given it was 30+ degrees, wasn’t an option) or the room we were already in. A rock and a hard place then.

But by far the most galling part of staying at the Boscolo and the reason they get the title of con artist is because I had paid for the pleasure of staying at this dreadful place in advance through lastminute.com – and when I returned home I checked my credit card statement, only to see the Boscolo had charged a further EUR188 - I have since emailed and called them on multiple occasions and while they have said they are “looking into it” they have not deigned to give me a response or an explanation. I have asked to see a statement to account for any other expenses I may have incurred – but as there are none, they have nothing to show me.

What a dirty, petty little hotel, ripping off unsuspecting guests of a paltry EUR188. Paying the initial amount was already a case of throwing good money down the drain – to be robbed of a further EUR 188 makes me very angry and I will be taking further action against the hotel. Not for the money but the principle, who do these people think they are? In my opinion this is theft.

NB - not worth the one star , i would give it 0.25
