Just returned from a week in Rome and had wonderful accommodations at the Hotel Giulio Cesare. The rooms were fairly spacious with large closets. Our bathroom was a bit small with just a shower, but other rooms had tub/shower combos. The towels were large and fluffy{with towel warmers} and the toiletries were fine and plentiful. Rooms were serviced in a timely fashion every day. The staff was very cordial. There was a lovely buffet breakfast every morning with eggs and other hot dishes, as well as cereal and delicious baked goods. There were a couple rooms off the lobby to chat and relax. The location of the hotel was excellent. It was a couple short blocks from a metro stop. It was within walking distance of nice local shops and restaurants and you could also walk across one of the bridges on the Tiber and be at the Piazza del Poppolo in 10 minutes. We walked to the Pantheon and the Vatican easily. There was a small bar at the hotel, but a little cafe would have been nice for an afternoon tea or coffee. It was definitely off-season, so perhaps they have more restaurant services in the prime tourist season. I would definitely stay there again--very comfortable.
