“Great place to stay in Italy”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 21, 2013

Stayed for 3 nights (17-19 May 2013) with family. Hotel is located in a quite street but walking distance to metro, public transport, vatican, shopping streets and landmarks. Spacious room with high cealing. Only complaint about the room is, I hate wet floor, wish they would install shower curtains and finding an English channel in the television was a struggle. There was more than 500 channels but only one English (CNN, channel No 403). Printed list of channels would help. Free wifi useful for my ipad. Great breakfast and Mr. Pandolfi (owner and GM) and wife in their old age personally present to ensure quality and service. Nice view of the city from the top floor (advice given by Mr. Pandolfi). Also good bar service.

Comfortable, ornate rooms but small. ground floor rooms have small patio with shaded place to relax. Bathrooms are well equipped. Hotel staff is friendly and very helpful. The hotel is very convenient for sight seeing and Excellently positioned for shopping where the locals do for clothing, leather goods and accessories without the higher rates found on the main tourist streets. Well made Italian made handbags for 39 Euros. Amazing. Lots of good restaurants, and gelato nearby. Excellent breakfast and very good cappuccino.

So I asked Trip Advisor to delete my prior review b/c I felt like I was being a bit too harsh. As I mentioned before, my husband and I were completely dissatisfied with our room upon arrival. I'm not one to ask for a room change, but in this instance I had to. The woman at the front desk was helpful and told me that since the hotel was fully booked that evening that they would move our luggage into an upgraded room the next day. *Moral of the story* - Do not book an economy room here. This is what we originally had and they are awful. There is no elevator so you have to carry up your luggage and the room is old and musty with a small air conditioner. If I would have known this, I would have avoided the whole issue but booked the upgraded room from the start (I had a travel agent do everything for me). Ultimately, once we were upgraded we were so happy. The new room was a hundred times better and we really enjoyed our stay there.

The location is elegant and very quiet, a non commercial neighbourhood. Ad advantage: just cross the river, which is near, and you will land in the very active Piazza del Popolo area. So the location has all the advantages. The metro station is near, and some good buses pass in one of the adjacent important roads.
The building is elegant as well. The interior is classical, with decorations in style. My room was on the ground floor, about 16 square meters. Non view, of course. On a side passage, therefore silent. A large bed, a good one.
The room was well furnished. A place to support the trolley, a drawing board good to write and work with the pc. However, the wireless was not free (the connection mentioned a pay-card usage).
Bathroom of regular size, i.e., not large but not tiny. A dental kit was offered, and all the usual toiletries. Although a four star, this hotel does not offer a bathrobe. All spotless clean. My room had a bathtub with a shower inside.
The breakfast room is in the lower floor, quite large and well equipped. Comfortable and nicely furnished. The breakfast itself, correct. It is organised on the basis of a full self service, i.e., nobody was there to assist. Just for taking away a used dish. But not to ask me whether I wished an espresso, as an example. An waiter, apparently occasionally there and busy in some occupation, did not say good-bye when I left. Like operators in the Japanese puppet theatre, he was “behind”, probably, not supposed to be noticed.
But, oh hark, on the table the usual apparel plus, in addition, the special tool (how do you call it in English??) to spread butter.
The receptionists, on the contrary, did exist: kind and professional. On my arrival my luggage was taken to the room.
On the whole a positive experience, very worth the price I paid, which was a reduced rate found on the web. A good quality/price ratio. I will put an eye on this hotel when back to Rome.

Buongiorno Sig. Arzillo,

Cordiali saluti.

Our lodging was booked by our bicycle tour group for our final night's stay in Italy. This place will NOT disappoint you. It's in a quiet, safe and clean area and within walking distance to most of what you'll want to visit in Rome.

You will love the immaculate marble entry, sitting areas with antique furnishings and accessories, intimate little bar and outside patio, and beautifully appointed and immaculate guest rooms. Our marble bathroom was very clean and extra points are given for the great water pressure and abundance of hot water!! Breakfast was lovely with a selection of hot and cold offerings and REALLY good coffee.

The front desk was very helpful in allowing us to store luggage, summoning the cab that would take us to their suggested place to dine that evening, assisting us with the use of their computers to confirm and check in for our return flights to the US.

The hotel offers an air of elegance without being stuffy.

Thankyou Comm Pandolfi and your team for another really enjoyable and memorable stay at your lovely hotel (12th -15th April).

We first visited Rome 10 years ago to celebrate my 40th birthday and stayed at this Hotel and last weekend to celebrate my 50th. In between my partner and I have returned several times and each time have enjoyed our stay. On one occasion whilst we were enjoying a drink at the bar the owner Comm Pandolfi' who takes a keen interest in the running of the hotel, was doing his rounds, and introduced himself. In the morning he was there again in the breakfast room and remembering our meeting the previous evening, made a gift of the honey he produces on his farm. This attention to the customer experience and the condition and cleanliness of the hotel, is the reason we have returned so many times. We hope to return again soon and this Hotel will be at the top of our list.

Room Tip: If you want to have a quite room ask for a garden facing room and is you can stretch your budget pay...

My husband, daughter and myself stayed at the Hotel Giulio Cesare this past Easter 2013 weekend. The hotel is beautiful inside and out. The service at the front desk was very accomodating and nice. Spoke very good English. The bartender Emanuel was a favorite for my husband, very nice and friendly and gave use good recommendations for dinner. It is conveniently located to the "heart" of Rome, about a 15 minute walk, also a 15 minute walk to the Vatican and about a 5 minute walk to the Metro. What was the best part of this hotel was that it was right across the street from St. John's Universary which was where our other daughter was studying. So saying it was a perfect location is an understatement. I would highly recommend this hotel. My only negative was the room was a little small.
