very conveniently located a few minutes walk from the railway station, right by the lovely church of Santa Maria Maggiore and a leisurely stroll to the other major sites/sights, assuming you, like me, find part of the joy of a new city is in discovering it on foot. Staff were charming, the buffet breakfast was very good and the view from the roof garden was wonderful. Of course the rooms might seem small for some of our American friends but the hotel has been tastefully converted from an old palace and the twin I shared with my mother was more than adequate - and I liked having a kettle in the room to make a cup of tea at the end of day's sight/site seeing.
