When we arrived Reception staff very unwelcoming, took an age to find our reservation - at least 15 minutes. Just gave us a key, no indication of where lift was, what floor we were on etc.
When we went out the following day and returned to our room at 3.30 p.m. the hotel was locked and we had to bang on the front door to get in!!
Room clean but very small, bathroom very very small, door banged on basin.
We asked Reception to order us a tax for our journey to the airport. Taxi driver seemed to be a "mate" of the Reception staff and not the usual white Rome taxi. After a few minutes we noticed no meter in the taxi and the driver ripped us off charging us 45 euros for a 20 minute journey to the airport then said he had no change when I gave him 50 euros. What a scam.
Good points - room was very clean, bed very comfortable indeed. Shower hot (but tiny), breakfast fairly good, croissants and rolls very fresh and plenty of food available although nothing hot. Breakfast room staff very pleasat and welcoming.
Hotel located near to stop for the open bus tour which was very handy, this is to be recommended if you only have a short stay in Rome - 18 euros for two days and a lot easier on your feet!!
If you are in this area go down Via Merulana about 5 minutes and down a little side street on the right and you will see the sign to Morgana Trattoria. Fabulous, mostly locals eating there. Very very reasonable prices and food cooked to order, don't be in a rush.
Please avoid the Patisserie at the top of Via Merulana - one espresso, one (small) capuccino, two very small cakes - 15 euros!! - the price of two main courses at Morgana Trattoria.

Hotel within walking distance of train terminal DO NOT CATCH A CAB, YOU WILL GO FOR A TOUR!. Colisseum, Trevi within walking distance and all day hop on hop off bus very close. Great value if using for up to 2 days. Restaurants nearby quite expensive, better value a bit further down. Rooms extremely clean, although shower a bit small. Air conditioning works well. Staff and management extremely efficient and friendly. Breakfast very good. Would like kettle in room, and iron/board, but otherwise fantastic value for money.

The hotel was close to the main Termini station as well as two other Metro stations. We used the Metro extensively during our stay and I would definitely recommend doing that. Once we did walk to the Colosseum, but it wasn't really that close. The staff was friendly and the front desk personnel spoke English. The room was very small, but had a good private bath with shower. We didn't really spend much time in the hotel anyway. The breakfast was great and the breakfast waitress was very attentive and fast. I would definitely stay there again.

In the beginning, my grilfriend and I were a little sceptical about 3-star hotel having such great reviews on this website but sinse we trust it completely, we decided to give it a try. When we arrived to Rome, this hotel was one of the best things that happened to us on our trip. It was only 7 minutes from Termini walking distance (DO NOT make a mistake and take a cab from the train station - they WILL rip you off). When we came there, we were greated so friendly by the son of the owners that we felt like we belong here. He was extremely helpful showing things around on the map and even suggested itenarary for the whole stay. The hotel is 2 minutes away from Santa Maria Maggiore, which you can even see out of the window. The hop on, hop off bus stop is right next to this church. These busses run a tleast untill 7 pm and are a great source of cheap transportation (out ticket was 20 euros and was good for 48 hours)

The room was great. Yes, it was small by American standards but extremely cozy; on the other hand, you didn't come to Italy to sit in the you room. There was NO weird smell in the room, it was clean (I'm a clean freak), and tidy. Air Conditioner was working perfectly, you even have a thermostat in the room. The only thing is, the shower was 3*3 feet and I would not suggest guys with over 40"-weist to stay in this hotel. They recently made improvement to the whole hotel since they bought an adjacent building, so the bathrooms are newly painted and have brand new tiles and plumbing.DO NOT open windows if AC is working fine - it can be really noisy outside

The breakfast was good. Not a breakfast in IHOP for sure, but It was a buffet which had any kind of coffee you like, jams, cheese spreads, meat spreads, salami, mortadella, fruit salad, juices, croissants and many more. This breakfast really charged us at least until 1-2 pm. Beware, the breakfast is served from 7.30 to 9.30 am, unlike other hotels which serve until 10.30. The breakfast room staff, Natalia especially, made cappucino taste like heaven!!!

We stayed in room 211 and paid $150 per night. The hotel was perfect for the price!!!!!!! When I come to Rome again this will be the top choice!

Friendly staff, cosy (if tiny) single room with everything you'd need (except a kettle) including aircon, safe, and tv (you can't see the tv screen however- lcd situated high on a wardrobe!). 3 mins from S Maria Maggiore and 5 minutes from termini station. You can walk to the Colosseum in twenty five minutes too.
Don't bother with the inedible breakfast and the mud-like coffee!
