Recommended by an Amex travel agent here in Boston. Location, location, location - right off the Via Veneto, 10 minutes to Spanish Steps - but on a quiet side street, so traffic noise was negligible (the occasional siren). Fabulous decor, decent-sized room, great bathroom with decent water pressure, in-room safe.
Helpful, pleasant staff; TWO elevators, large-scale breakfast (eggs, cold cuts, cereals, tons of fruit, 4 juices, great espresso, yogurt, etc. - something for everyone!) and the absolute topper - fanTAStic roof terrace: multi-level, unbelievable views, friendly service, great selection of wines and liquors. That was where we ended our evenings - one last glass of wine on the comfy outdoor sofa by the fountain.
not 'cheap' but so worth the $$$. would absolutely stay there again.

The location of the hotel is much better than I anticipated....10 minutes to Spanish Steps, 15 minutes to Trevi Fountain...just off the posh Via Veneto... a great neighborhood for walking around. We stayed in room 509...nicely appointed, great bathroom, nicely air conditioned and insulated windows to block out the noise. The breakfast was bountiful, but average on taste. The staff was polite and helpful, except for one gentleman working in the evening...we feel certain that he purposely gave us misinformation. We asked about taking the train to Civitecchia and he assured us that it was a real ordeal and that we should let him get us a car and driver....when we asked several other employees they assured us that he gave us the wrong info.
We felt safe walking in the area at night. The shuttle from the airport will deliver you right to the door at a substanial savings from a taxi.
The beds and pillows are harder than we are use to, but comfortable enough...and we felt the room was quite clean. If we return to Rome, I will stay there again....even though the price is expensive...we felt comfortable and safe. Sunny

I would not recommend this hotel under any circumstances because it is over priced and definitely not a 5 or 4 star hotel. We paid £750 for three nights in a twin room. The breakfast was only average and there is virtually no service whatsoever so I don't know how this hotel claims 5 stars. A lot of the hotels in Rome have had their day and have not been decorated or renovated in decades, this is one of them. The rooms are really terrible, very very small with very old furniture and 14" televisions. The elevator is so old and doesn't work well. The facade of this hotel with palm trees and grand entrance is a great deception, the lobby looks great but then once you get into the lift and up to the rooms you feel absolutely cheated. There is no restaurant or bar in the hotel either so it feels deserted at nighttime, there's no atmosphere. The hotel is about 10 minutes walk from Spanish Steps. Stay elsewhere while in Rome.

We stayed in this hotel for 3 nights recently, booking two single rooms. It is in a great location, just off Via Veneto, with lots of good restaurants nearby. The rooms were very comfortable and clean, and had good air conditioning. The staff were friendly and helpful. We tried the rooftop bar one night for a drink,a bit expensive but nice views over Rome. The RomaTour open top bus stops right outside and is well worth trying, giving a good overview of the main sights.I would definitely stay here again.
