I can not believe some of these reviews. This hotel is beautiful, the service was outstanding and the front desk staff did everything possible to help us. My husband and I went with our 2 boys and the staff could not have been more helpful. They even helped us book soccer tickets. Truly a beautiful hotel, well located. I don't understand what people are complaining about !!!

My wife booked this hotel for a birthday treat for me, I read the other reviews and I wondered what I was in for!

I only book 4star plus hotels and I have travelled extensively around the world visiting many capital cities and i would return to this hotel , the hotel is in a very good location, walk 8 minutes to Spanish steps , at the bottom of the steps are ALL the maor designer shops, walk to good eateries, if you don't like walking 10 euros will get you to most locations in one of the many white taxis.
Terrace bar does a very good club sandwich, did'nt eat at night, room was very clean and fresh, bed was firm the way a decent bed should be.
Staff were very friendly and helpful,
don't go to the terrace bar for a drinking session unless you have a very thick wallet.
Don't let some of the American reviews put you off this hotel is better than lots of the so called top hotels in Manhatten.
Don't order wine in cafe de paris round the corner , cheapest bottle starts at 60 euros (same bottle 18 euros in Savoy) and staff are ignorant.
Do go to Piaza Narvone , eat in Berninis fab atmosphere, great food ,great people watching , street entertainers etc.

  • Liked — cocktails on the roof terrace
  • Disliked — price of cocktails on the roof terrace!

“Don't Stay Here! Beds Are Horrible!”

We stayed at this hotel for 4 nights while on our honeymoon. We booked our trip through a "go-today travel site".DON'T stay here if you want to sleep. The bed mattresses are old, thin, and VERY hard. We asked the concierge if we could stay in a different room, and he said that all the beds were the same.So we had to ask for 3 additional thick blankets to fold over and "pad" the bed with. We checked into changing our hotel, but because we were on a tight schedule, we had to "tough it out".We have stayed at a lot of hotels in europe, and U.S.But this one by far had the worst beds, especially for the price that we paid.We recommend staying at Hotel Eden instead. It is located about 1 block the west of the Savoy. It is a more elegant hotel, AND it was cheeper by about 100 Euro at the time we inquired.Hotel Eden did not include breakfast, but there is a cafe nearby (1 min. away) for that.Cafe Lemo: The best Cappuccino!!! Better than Starbucks! 1.50 Euro! Best Price in Rome!

  • Liked — The location and the breakfast was convenient.
  • Disliked — The BEDS!!!

me and my boyfriend stayed at the savoy hotel inrome in June for my 18th birthday and we both had the most fantastic time. the hotel staff looked after you the moment you wlked in and caried your cases to your room and made sure everything was ok before leaving you to your own devices. breakfast was really good and we had our last evening meal there in the roof top terrace and it was gorgeous - the best meal i have had for ages - no word of a lie. the rooms were kept immaculate and the beds were really comfy - NO BED BUGS AT ALL - the rooms were a decent size - not too big not too small and the air conditioning was heaven. the hotel was very handy for seeing all the sights and getting to the metroand checking out the restaurants and bars . could not fault one thing with this hotel and would recommend it one hundred percent to anybody stopping in rome.

  • Liked — the friendliness of staff
  • Disliked — nothing

No frills here, and the staff was fairly ambivalent. It felt like an imposition every time we asked for assistance! There was one helpful front desk attendant - Titziana, but the rest were not. This was a very basic place to hang your hat and sleep at night. The beds were quite hard. The rooms, small. Bathroom, also small. It's not something you would like if you are accustomed to travel in the US. If you are considering going to Rome in the summer, think again. It was uncomfortably hot and the natives are rude. The line to get into mass with the Pope was a horrific nightmare.
