We stayed at the Palatino for 4 nights in April and are very pleased with our stay.
Nice breakfast ( slightly confusing since it is spread out around the breakfastroom...)
Close to the metro and in walking distance to many great sights.
The staff was a bit ignorant but helpfull when you finally got their attention.
The room was nice and clean but a bit outdated.
Great value for money.
Recomended!!

BEWARE!!! This hotel looks AMAZING on its website-Beautiful pictures with updated rooms. This is what you see on the first floor! When you stay on the 3rd/4th/5th floor, like we did, what you get is a room that is a small, old, and in desperate need of a good cleaning and some paint. I was willing at first to overlook the “no frills” accommodations when I saw how close we were to all the sights. Yes, it’s very close to the metro. And yes, it’s very close to the forums and the Colosseum. But the room was a DUMP! Our room was missing necessities on a daily basis and when requested we had to wait hours to get them. Overall, the staff was rude and not very accommodating. They often seemed as if they didn’t want to be bothered. Feel free to stay at this hotel as it is close to the major sights, but be warned, this hotel is not as it appears!

We have just returned from a lovely 4 day stay at the Hotel and would definitely recommend it for anyone wishing to have a romantic stay in central Rome. It is only 5 minutes walk from the Central train Station. It is so close to the key places of interest, we only used a taxi once when visiting Vatican.
Our room was obviously newly refurbished, spotlessly clean, with a large comfortable bed, crisp white linen sheets, flat screen TV mini bar & safe. The bathroom had double sinks and was finished in stone and marble, there were even large white fluffy bath robes and slippers.
(Note like many Italian hotels there is an ironing service as there are no irons in the room)
The Hotel has a real Cocktail/Piano Bar and a top class restaurant. The wine list is good and has a great selection of Italian Wines at very reasonable prices. Eating in the restaurant was a delight! The staff were always smiling and very attentive. The breakfast is served from 06:30 to 10:00 includes fruit, pastries, continental, cereal and eggs and bacon.

The Hotel Staff were extremely professional, all Italians and all speaking a variety of languages including excellent English. There had great local knowledge and nothing seemed too much trouble to sort out. Hotel guests were a mix of Italians, Business Travellers and a few English Tourists.
All in all this is very professionally run 4 Star Hotel with great staff, a wonderful restaurant and bar. We are going to return with friends next time.

So pick this Hotel for being in central Rome. Spend your days wondering around the sights until your feet hurt. Then return to the hotel relax in with a Cocktail and eat in the resteraunt for a prefect trip.

stayed with my sister for 2 nights in Jan 2009. The price we paid was very good and I thought this hotel was great value. It is a good 4 star in a great location. The staff are good, breakfast was nice, room was small but very comfortable. great stay.

Perfect location central location. Check in was easy--staff spoke English well. Rooms were clean and very roomy. Great firm beds. Breakfast was very good. Staff very helpful.
Location was about 8-10 blocks from train station but we jumped the Metro to get to the hotel. Metro station close and a good way to get around Rome.
