The Aquarium was a nice stay in a convenient location if you are traveling by train. The subway and the tour buses also are at the train station as well as the city buses so it is easy to get around from there. The neighborhood itself may not be the best, but we had no problems.

Just a block down the street are three restaurants. The two we ate at, Giuseppei's and Mario's (that may have been the name of the waiter, not the restaurant) were nice as well.

While it would be a long walk to the Vatican, the subway will get you to within three blocks of the entrance to the Sistine chapel and museum in about 15 minutes.

The staff was good and the breakfast was typical but satisfying. The room was large and well appointed. The shower was a little small, but not a problem and had plenty of hot water as there is a water heater in the bathroom.

After reading the other reviews on this hotel we honestly can say what exactly did these people expect for 50 EUROS a night for a twin room with breakfast included?! Obviously it is not going to be the Ritz but if you want to go to a hotel that is in the centre of Rome within walking distance of ALL historic sights or 2 minutes from the main train station then this is the perfect hotel. The hotel itself was secure with you having to identify yourself before entering and the street on which it is on was safe at all times of the day or night. The rooms were a decent size, cleaned everyday with fresh towels, comfortable beds and hot runnning water at all times. The staff were very friendly and helpful quite happy to give directions, advice and recommmendations for local restaurants etc.
While on the subject of local restaurants turn right out of the hotel, proceed down the street a few hundred metres and on the opposite side is a restaurant (trattatoria Giovanni's) that serves the best homemade Italian food in the area at a excellent price that must be tried on your holiday in Rome!!! Tip: Save your money for the food dont feel obliged to buy roses or give money to every street musician that comes along during your meal, pay them once per group per meal and only buy a rose if you want to.
As for the breakfast, it comprises of cornflakes, croissants and italian bread, condiments, fresh orange, tea, coffee, hot chocolate, cappuccino alll of which you can have as much as you want. Besides with so much such good value, filling italian food available locally who cares if you have a basic breakfast you are saving yourself for your main meals!
As you can tell we could talk all day about what a great holiday we have had and of how pleased we were with our choice of hotel. Clare and Chris xx

We really liked staying here, it is soooo close to the train station, therefore-- no taxi costs and it's very close to the Colosseum and other sights. The room was very spacious and the windows opened directly into a little courtyard w/ authentic Italian apartments outside of it. We had hot water, but the showers were extremely small, but it wasn't a big deal. Breakfast wasn't the best, but any hotel like that, it's kinda what you expect. The lobby was really nice and we only had 4 rooms on our floor. We liked that you had to be buzzed in for security- the staff was very friendly and nice and will negotiate a discount if you pay in cash -- if they won't, just put it on a credit card. We had room service everyday and enjoyed the open aired spaciousness of the room. We would stay here again for the location, the prices were a bit high for what you got.

Honestly didn't expect much after reading the most recent review. So when we arrived we were pleasantly surprised when the hotel staff spoke excellent english and was very friendly. We had a small but clean room. The beds were very firm but comfortable enough and clean. The bathroom was very basic but hot water was available and the towels were cleaned every day. The breakfast was very italian (since they tend to eat a sweet roll in combination with a cappuccino). But sweet rolls, rusk with cheese or jam were available unlimited. So were coffee, cappuccino and tea. So in all it wasn't that bad. It isn't a "contintental" buffet but you could eat what you wanted.
Honestly the only truely bad thing is the fact that our room was in the hallway near the reception and the breakfast room, so noise could be heard regularly and that our room (like some others) was in a small street where the garbage was standing. In november perhaps not as much of a problem but in the summer I am certain that the smell will be quite unattractive.
Oh... and i forget to say, the wallpaper...absolutely hidious! hahaha. In conclusion... I would stay here again NO problem. The location close to termini station (5 minutes walk with luggage) and to many of the tourist attractions was absolutely super.

This hotel was DISGUSTING. It was a quick walk from Termini Station, and we had read good reviews before we made the reservation, but were quite shocked by the appearance of the hotel when we approached. It was old and run down, and in desparate need of remodeling. The room was one of the smallest I have stayed in in europe, and was dirty - we saw bugs in the room. The bathroom was miniscule, had very loud pipes, and was filthy - there was hair from previous guests in the towels and in the shower. More than a few things in the room and bathroom were broken, including the main light switch. There are much nicer places in the same area for only 10 euros more that are cleaner and more comfortable. Good thing we were only there one night.
