Hotel staff obviously pads the good responses for this hotel.

Busy and loud location on end of dark street. Management is uncooperative and eager to take advantage of tourists using aggressive and intimidating methods.

If you enjoy hidden fees, a staff that makes excuses and clearly does not care then Golden Tulip Ambra Palace hotel is the right place for you and your family. First, upon arrival my family was warned not to walk around the hotel at night by our cab driver. Then, upon staying at the hotel we were provided a information about services (i.e. breakfast, shuttle, etc.) that were printed as being free. When were sideswiped by many many "hidden fees" the staff said and I quote "Those pamphlets are from four years ago and out of date". Upon further pressing the issue I was told that they were not responsible for the misinformation. That was printed in their pamphlets. That it applies to some packages not to others. It does not specify this in the pamphlets that it is a per package. Also, the hotel provided shuttle costs more by a significant amount then the cabs from the airport. The staff was aloof and did not care. In fact one staff member had the audacity to laugh at my sister as she was walking away after attempting to have a calm conversation about the matter. DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!!

The hotel offers all the needs when you go for a quick visit to a new town. Very good location, close to main train station and subway stop and within walking distance to major attractions. Room was quite small but very clean and newly renovated.
Staff was very friendly and breakfast was within normal standards. Hey, when you go to Rome you are going to see the city attractions and not to stick to food!
Neighbourhood was not that good but that did not affect in any means our stay.
Strongly recommend this hotel.

The Hotel is strategicaly located near Rome's main train station and the subway stop, which is a great plus considering the distances. Also, it is at a walking distnace from the main attractions. Our stay was a very lovely especially that when we arrived they made us a surprise, offering us an upgrade to a Superior Room. Friendly staff, very helpful in assisting us with our sightseeing, and not to forget, an esquisite breakfast!!
