We stayed for two nights and got a lovely superior room for no extra cost. It had a kingsize bed, a jacuzzi bath (albeit quite small), a sofa bed for our son, a parquet floor, a beautiful rug and lovely sumptious looking curtains. Tea and coffee supplied, but make sure you ask for extra milk as what they give you is only enough for one cup per person per day.
It was a little noisy outside our room as it overlooked the street below and the local traders, but it added to the atmosphere.
The hotel was immaculate, but the bar food and drinks were very expensive: 6.50 euro for a small glass of prosecco and 5.50 euro for a small beer. Complimentary drink on arrival though.
Staff were friendly and service was very good. We were given a free map on arrival by the reception and they told us where to visit and how to get there.
The breakfast was nice - lots of pastries, meat, cheese, veggies, breads, yoghurts, but the fruit came out of a tin! The japanese style soup for breakfast was quite nice. Coffee was delicious, especially with the warm milk they give you.
The hotel is really handy for the main station and for the Vittorio Emmanuele metro and is in a really ethnic area. The indoor market opposite was huge and absolutely unbelievable. Local shops are authentic indian or chinese and water and provisions are really cheap compared with the more central areas. Avoid the 'fast food' indian restaurant a few doors up - the head waiter almost bullied us into buying things off the menu that we didn't want so he could bump up our bill, but we were trapped as our son was quite poorly and we didn't want to go too far from the hotel. The food wasn't that plentiful or that good either.
Overall a really lovely hotel and I would recommend it for comfort, quality and convenience.
