My wife and I stayed at the Melia Roma Aurelia Antica as part of a Trafalgar tour (Italian Holiday). The hotel while nice and clean was far away from Rome proper yet served our needs nicely as a jumping off point. The room was clean and well furnished – shower curtain/door was awkward which resulted in water all over the floor. Our only meals at the hotel was the breakfast buffet which was plentiful and acceptable.

Lovely hotel with stylish reception area . However, hotel is on outskirts this sounds ok as there is a free shuttle bus. But this service is completly over subscribed with only two buses back late evening one at 8:30 and the other two hours later at ten. If its full you are left on the pavement with a two hour wait or an expensive taxi fare of between 12-20 euros.

We stayed in Melia for three nights, It was a great, hotel is a high standard, it is on the outskirts of the town, but you can take a local bus, 892, and it will take you to the nearest metro,I would definately choose this hotel once again , superb!!!!

Firstly, this is a really clean well kept hotel with great service from most of the staff.
We stayed for 3 night and had booked a double non smoking room. On arrival we were offered a twin smoking room with additional facilities for the disabled.It took some discussion with the duty manager to resolve this. ( still not what we booked)
Finally what they don't make clear is the first come first served policy with the courtesy bus, its horrific to watch the people left at the bus stop as the final bus pulls away at 11pm and those who have missed it are left to find a taxi in Rome, a journey that will set you back 15 - 20 Euro's to the hotel.
Its miles away from anywhere so you need the bus to enjoy the wonders Rome has to offer - even the simple requirement of a meal out
