yikes!! my boyfriend and I were rerouted to the Palladium Palace for one night after our reservation was supposedly screwed up at the Mecenate Palace down the street. we had no idea what to expect! the street is directly outside of the Termini train station and is a pretty busy thoroughfare with graffiti, buses and lots of crazy folk. we're from NYC though and have traveled quite a bit in European cities so we weren't toooooo shocked... but it had been a long flight and we weren't really in the mood for this adventure.

upon entering the hotel we walked right into a showdown with a woman at the reception desk and a guest that was checking out. they were arguing loudly about a $3Euro charge for a wireless connection that the guest claimed not to have been able to use. hectic!! as we were ignored by reception a couple timidly appears behind us asking for their passports from the desk... they were told "oh, they are not ready and we have no IDEA when they will be!" the couple looked confused... and we were reluctant to hand over our own passports a few minutes later...

after being ignored for a few minutes longer, we were taken up to our room... which to our surprise was extremely clean, large and ok. we didn't want to hang out there too long though... so after an hour or so, after showering and changing we made our way back to the reception desk to pick up our passports... after being ignored a bit more by the man behind the desk who was taking a personal call we asked for our passports... and were told "oh, they are not ready!" so we asked why they were taking so long and made it clear we weren't going anywhere. our passports were sitting in clear view. the man then picked up the passports, jotted down the info they needed and handed them back to us. it took not even a minute.

our room was large and the bed was comfortable and we were tired. so we slept pretty well. there was a LOT of banging against our door all night caused by the other doors however. this wasn't enough to break us of our slumber for one night... but would've been a tragedy to endure for longer than that...

luckily were were only at this hotel one night. we didn't eat breakfast so can't review. this is a clean hotel but is kind of far from decent restaurants and has a rather dreary view of the train station. i would recommend this to budget travelers but not my friends.

i have just begun writing reviews here after using trip advisor for years to plan my vacations... all of your reviews have made my life much easier! thanks everybody!

We travel to Italy once a year. When we are in Rome, we always stay at the Palladium. This past May, my partner and I booked the hotel online while we were in Gaeta. We didnt realize it was the Soccor Finals. We reserved a room for one night. When we arrived, we were told that the room we reserved was for the night before. We were stunned. Even though it was our fault, we were horrified as the city was booked because of the finals. The front desk couldnt have been more helpful. They helped us find a room in an ok hotel a couple of blocks away. Yes we lost $200.00 as we booked for the wrong date, but with the location, cleanliness, and efficient and helpful staff, we will continue to stay at the Palladium when we are in Rome!

We read several reviews prior to staying at the Palladium Palace and honestly, we had some doubts. Our doubts were quickly dispelled once we arrived. The staff was cheerful, friendly, and extremely helpful. We stayed 2 nights prior to our cruise, and 1 night upon our return. The rooms were quite comfortable and well decorated and we had no issues with noise from the street as others have commented. The air-conditioning is not quite up to American standards, but it was certainly adequate, especially since it was 95 degrees plus during our stay. The staff recommended a restaurant that was roughly three blocks away - absolutely outstanding right down to the complementary Lemoncelo as a light dessert drink. Location was great and we had no trouble figuring out the Metro to get to Tivoli Gardens. We noted several negative reviews and can only conclude that the guests probably had an attitude issue when they checked in. We were courteous and the staff was courteous - nothing more need be said. I recommend the Palladium highly - very enjoyable.

We stayed at Hotel Palladium for 3 nights in March 2009. The location of the hotel could not have been better as it is only 5 mins walk, or even less from Termini Station, which connects you directly to Fiumicino Airport, Rome. From the airport, you take the train that takes you directly to Termini Station.
The Hotel is also close to the main bus station as it is in front of Termini Station as well as the underground train station (Metro). There are only 2 lines , Line A & Line B which makes it very easy to get around Rome.

The hotel is comfortable and very clean. We had a double bedroom with bathroom which were cleaned everyday. An abundant continental breakfast.
