Recently stayed here for 5 nights in a noisy corner junior suite.
Strange room with a small bedroom with a beautifully painted ceiling and another very small other room with a sofa bed. The closit/amroire was in the corner and very inconvenient.
The headboard had an odd projection which made it difficult to read in bed without 4 pillows.
While the location may be considered good as it is close to the train station, it is a very dirty, low end area.
The bathroom was a decent size but poorly arranged. The bathtub had some mold around the caulking.
The breakfast was ok but the breakfast room was on the top floor with a very slow elevator.

We stayed at this hotel at the end of May for six nights. We came here because we were at the hotel maikol for two nights at 120 euros per night. The palladium charged us100 per night with breakfast. Beware of the room switch as described earlier. When i came to the hotel asked for rates and to look at a room, they showed a much nicer and more spacious room than the one we got. What we got was nice, but the AC did not work for one night, which wasnt the end fo the world, it would have been in July or August. The staff was OK, hotel internel worked about half of the time. It is best to just to to one of the local vendors to use phone and internet at very competative prices.

The hotel is in a great location, do not miss the Santa maria Maggiore church which is on the square about 100 yards left out of the hotel entrance. There is also a great cafeteria/restaurant on the square, one wine I did remember was Moretti Montelpuciano de Abruzzo for 14 euros-amazing.

The hotel is close to everything you'll want to see in Rome, as well as trains if you are on Eurail pass

The Palladium Palace hotel is walking distance - about 25 yards-from the train and bus termini. Very convenient. Friendly helpful staff, good working breakfast - not much variety, but what the heck , you have good budget restaurants all around. Rome's China town is also nearby. Very good place to stay if you want to visit Rome on a budget

Stayed for 3 nights last week in this hotel. Got a voucher through Cultuzz (via Ebay) which made it a decent price otherwise wouldn't have bothered. Within walking distance of the Colosseum, Spanish Steps and Trevi Fountain. Other sights are further afield but walkable if you are keen. It's a couple of minutes away from the main bus and train station where the open topped round trip buses start and finish. We took the subway a couple of times which was cheap and easy to use.
The hotel itself is probably a good 2 star, room was ok, clean enough. Bathroom was ok but the bath was tiny and not really useable. Our room looked out onto a communal courtyard which was good as there was very little noise. It was not that hot so we didn’t really need to use the air con which was just as well because it was useless. I would not want to be in that room in the middle of summer.
Staff were friendly and helpful but very very slow. I ordered 2 beers from the mini bar (fridge was being replaced so had to ask for items). They took 20 minutes and 2 phone calls to arrive, when they did the porter had forgotten a bottle opener. 20 minutes later he retuned with it.
Plenty of restaurants nearby, we went to La Taverna dei Fori Imperiali twice which was only 10 minutes walk away, it was excellent and really made our stay in Rome (see my review if you wish).
To summarise I got a good deal so that made it worthwhile, location worked well for us but all the sights are not right on your doorstep. Unless it was cheap I wouldn't return.

It has been quite a long time since my unpleasant experience with the Palladium Palace Hotel, but I just had to get the word out again. Then in reading current reviews, I see they pulled the same trick with other guests. I made reservations for clients to stay at the Palladium Palace with their family. This required two double rooms and one triple room. When they arrived they said they had to go into a larger room to accommodate and pay the higher rate. I had this rate all settled prior to their arrival and I was shocked when the clients returned with their receipt for the higher rate. I went back and forth and the hotel said the client agreed to the room and they were not going to refund the difference. I ended up paying the client the $300.00 difference. Even though this is years later I vowed to never book the Palladium Palace Hotel. I felt this would some day come back to them and they would lose business because of it. With all the hotel choices in Rome, look elsewhere for your lodging needs. In the end, they will feel the results in the pocket book.
