Our group of three adults recently stayed at this hotel during a 4 day vacation visit to Rome. All of us enjoyed the Palladium Palace as a quiet place to relax & unwind after each day of sightseeing. The location of the hotel is one of its top features- about 5 minutes walk to Termini Station where we used the trains & metro during our stay. There were plenty of quality restaurants & pizzarias nearby, as well as a supermarket. It is within walking distance of several major attractions, but we generally hopped on the metro for the historic areas, the Vatican and the Borghese. We had pre-booked a couple of tours- These met us at & returned us to the hotel with no problems due to its location on a main sreet.

Hotel staff was very courteous & helpful from the front desk & porters to the maids working upstairs. Directions when requested were clear & correct, and as Americans on our first visit to Rome, this was greatly appreciated.

The room was spacious for the 3 of us- very clean & comfortable. Beds were great. We had a balcony view of the street- busy but not too noisy & a great view from the small balcony. The bathroom was well appointed with plenty of hot water.

The rooftop morning breakfast was very good with a variety of rolls & pastries, meats, cheeses, cereals, fruits, juices, scrambled eggs- More than enough to eat and the quality was great.

Our overall experience was very favorable. We were looking for a clean, comfortable, safe, centrally located hotel- the Palladium Palace surpassed our expectations and we would recommend it to you without hesitation.

Affordable, great location, lovely service, lovely rooms. Would definitely stay there again, and comes recommended from two 27 year olds.

Just finished a four night stay at the Palladium Palace Hotel with my familly and would recommend it to anyone wishing for a good location from which to explore Rome. Nicely decorated and well maintained, spotlessly clean rooms with good aircon. The bathroom was well appointed and had a good powerful shower and jaccuzi bath, with plenty of hot water. The staff were all very helpful and pleasant in reception, in the breakfast room and at the bar.

The Nouvo Stella trattoria, recommended by the reception staff, was just a block away and provide very good food.

  • Liked — Spacious (for Rome City Centre) well presented and very clean.
  • Disliked — No food service other than breakfast

Literally less than 3 short blocks from Termini train station I booked this hotel for 3 nights just 3 weeks before leaving, after reading Tripadvisor reviews on it, and the original Hotel Diana I canceled for the same reasons. In 2001 we stayed at Diana, but it appears to have gone downhill since, and after walking by it, I was really glad I switched to the Palladium. The latter gave us a 5th floor room on the street with a mini balcony window which when opened afforded views to the left to St Maria Maggiore dome and to the right to Termini station, with vibrant street life below, with plenty of hawkers selling umbrellas and stuff. When closed, the room was completely quiet until 6.30am when you could vaguely hear chairs being moved in the breakfast room on 6th floor. Complimentary bottled water in the mini bar, in wall safe, great bathroom, and rather a large room for Europe. 2 euro per half hour internet PC.
Reception staff great and very friendly. We walked everywhere from here...Collosseum, Trastavere, Via Veneto, Barbarini, Trevi, Pantheon, Navona, Fiori, Villa Borghese.
If you are arriving or leaving by train this is a very handy place to stay. We arrived from Paris on overnight train, and went to Naples and back between our first 2 and last day here. And then to FCO on the Leonardo Express.
This seems far more worthy of 4 stars than its rating to us.

As most off you will find, city centre hotels in Rome are generally more expensive than other cities in Europe. I had thoroughly researched where to stay and found The Palladium palace good value for money.

We had oringinally booked the standard double room at 175 euros a night direct with the hotel, but the owner made a mistake and we ended up with one of the superior rooms which should have been 235 a night. This was not bought to light until we checked out and received the bill, but the owner kindly honoured our reservation at the lower rate.

Our room was 505 and had three balconies (it is at the top floor of the accomodation level), with even one off from the bathroom. The balconies were dual aspect and on both sides of the hotel so we had marvelous views down three different streets. The windows have shutters as well as the glass doors so sound is blocked out really well. The bathroom was designed with Versace tile and had a jaccuzi bath and a lovely powerfull shower. (no showergel in with the toiletrees, which seems common place with alot of hotels nowadays). Everything was clean and the beds were huge, as was the room.

The breakfast was what we expected, with most things you need and I dont think you can complain when it is included in the price. The fresh pastries were delicious and most had surpise fillings, my favourite being coconut paste.

The bars were always empty but there are great bars on every street with more atmosphere. The surprise was how reasonable the mini bar was in the room , a bottle of prosecco was only 3.5 and wine 3 euros. I never normally use mini bars as they are such a rip off so it goes to show that if they are reasonably priced people might actually use them.

The hotel is located in quite a touristy modern area but we were getting the train from FMC airport to Termini which is literally a stones throw away so is very convenient. Everything in Rome is walkable though from the location if you are mobile enough, and there is always something to see on the way to where you are heading. The trains run every half hour to and from the airport and only take half and hour so I def recommend this as a transfer.

The hidden gem is the Church Santa Maria Maggiore along the street. Just go inside and you will see what I mean, it is stunning!

The hotel recommended two restaurants, the best being Sa Tanca, a fantastic seafood and fish restaurant. I will write a review on this too. Also in the street parellel is a typical Italian restaurant Nuova Stella which is handy if like us you are arriving late and want something nearby. I would also recommend the Library which is currently number 1 in trip advisor rome restaurants.

So, in general, if you want to push he boat out try room 505 otherwise, if you just want somewhere fairly central to lay your head and have a hearty breakfast before sightseeing then you cant go far wrong with The Palladium Palace.

  • Liked — Near train station and within walking distance to most tourist sights
