I will always remember the Borromeo Hotel as this was my first time in Italy! I'm soooo glad I decided to book this hotel. It has a small-hotel charm to it. The location is SUPERB! You're in the middle of everything...Termini Station is very close...we walked to the hotel. The major sights, like the Coloseum and the Foro Romano are all within walking distance. There are various restaurants and small grocery-type stores within a few steps. The location is vey safe. Transportation wise, it's easy to get to either walking of via the metro line which is a few blocks away.
I found that in most of of Italy, there aren't too many facilies that offer accomodating services for someone in a wheelchair or other type of needs, especially in the subway/metro areas. The stairs in the hotel are a little steep and the elevator is small, along with the shower. If someone is looking for handicapped facilites, please be sure to ask any hotel if they can accomodate your needs.
The room is a bit small but it's fine as you spent most of your day sight seeing. (If you have more than 1 child the room would be too small.) The staff was very nice. There is NOTHING negative I can say about this hotel. I would truly recommend it to anyone. Absolutely loved it! Grazie, Hotel Borromeo!! Via Cavourrrrr!
