A nice 3 star hotel, close to the antiquity era ruins (forum, colusseum, etc.) but further from the vatican, piazza navona, trevi fountain, pantheon.

There's a subway station 2 minutes walk from the hotel (b line) which is very convenient.

Rooms: quite small, safe included, tv, fridge, nicely decorated.

Bathroom: Shower, clean, fresh amenities every day. everything worked and was kept clean.

Breakfast: quite good, on rooftop patio, pastries, cereal, spreads, etc.

Neighborhood: Nice, clean, no homeless people, nice bar up the street (the druid's bar I think it was called) for tourists.

The only bad thing I can say about it was that the b line goes pretty much underneath the hotel and can be annoying, but we didn't overly suffer.

Also, there was only hot airconditioning at the time, not cold.

Smallest room ever. And smelly...

Reading here that the room in the Borromeo are even small in European standards didn't make me change my mind about the booking. Why should I care? This is rome, and I would probably be spending the entire day outside, just spending a few hours in the room for sleeping what I come back after a day of shopping...
Boy, was I wrong. This hotel is too small and claustrophobic. The double bed (which isn't the biggest or the most comfortable thing either) takes up literally the entire room. There is no place to put your luggage (2 medium size suitcases), let alone unpacking them (small cupboard with room for a few t-shirts, and a jacket). To get to the bed we had to jump over the suitcases, that were standing against the room's door. To change clothes, we had to go the small bathroom.

And the smell in the room - it stunk from cigarette smoking, and had just a bad sweaty odor.

If you want to enjoy your vacation - do not go here!

I paid a 100/Euros per night, for 4 nights, and though this was a bargain deal. It wasn't. We didn't want to come back to our hotel in the evening, fearing that we would get too depressed...

If I had to plan my trip again, I would book a different hotel, maybe further from the center of the city, but with a bit more elbowroom.

With a group of friend we have been in this hotel few days ago.
We think the hotel is a nice combination of comfort, good price and location.
All was recently renewed, very clean and well kept.

Often I travel to Italy in this period of the year(April), and evrytime we spend 2 or 3 nights in Rome before going to Tuscany and before take the flight back to Sharm where we live.
A friend of mine suggested me this hotel in Rome.
We have found it very nice and very convenient.
We booked 3 dbl rooms and at the check in we had 3 rooms on the same floor next to each other.
Nice rooms, good breakfast on a roof on 3rd floor.
The hotel is located in a very central area of Rome and the concierge at the hotel suggested us also a very nice arabian restaurant and it was very appeciated!
We loved to walk to the Roman Forums and the Colisseum and we also reserved through the Hotel a one day excursion to Naples.
We had a very good impression of the Hotel and the staff, helpful and friendly.

I want to start saying that hotel is quite decent for the money, even has an elevator (lift). Rooms are clean, serviced early, OK breakfast, free WiFi. The rest is FYI.
We had a hard time finding quad room for the recent trip to Rome. From hotels with decent reviews at good location very few even had them, that's why we settled on Borromeo. We came in before the room was ready, so we went sightseeing and came back near 9pm completely spent. When we went into our room we found out that instead of a quad room it was a double room where they managed to cram 2 more beds. Under cram I mean there was barely space to get into a cabinet and about that much to get into the bathroom. One of the roll aways was next to a double bed, and the other was at the foot of the other beds. You had to actually crawl over one bed to get to another. So much for European fire safety code. Do not get me wrong, I've been to enough hotels in Europe to not expect much in terms of space. This was not a quad room by any mean. We tried to catch a manager the next day but could not. I complained to the duty guy. The next day (for the 3rd night) we came back to find out that all of our stuff was moved into a larger room they called suite. I found the manager the next day and he said the first room was that we booked, and then they "upgraded" us for free. Still trying to resolve with Expedia, since the whole thing was prepaid.
One more thing is street noise is quite prominent on the side facing Via Cavour.
