Enjoyable overall but don't eat in the restaurant and don't rely on the shuttle.

On arriving at the hotel we were impressed with the overall look of the hotel. Our room was large, air conditioned and spotlessly clean with lots of little luxuries. The free parking was a bonus and the car seemed to be safe enough in the hotel's grounds. The hotel was excellent, how ever it had a couple of issues.
We did make the mistake of eating in the restaurant the first night. It was extremely overpriced and believe it or not they had the cheek to serve frozen pizza and then charge you 15euros for it. The rest of the food was dreadful and breakfast was not much better but at least it was included in the room rate.
One of the reason we chose this hotel was the free shuttle bus, as the plan was to leave the car and use that to travel to the city centre. The 1st day the 3pm didn't show up to return to the hotel so we had to wait til 4pm for the next one. With 2 small children that was no fun in the blazing heat. After that we decided to forget the shuttle and drive ourselves which was a lot easy than we thought it would be. However some of the roads had no markings and no apparent rules, a little scary but highly amusing.
The swimming pool was lovely after sightseeing in the city. The kids loved it and we had lots of fun. The pool was worth being that little bit further out of the city centre. It was about a 10 minute drive from the vatican, 15 minutes from the colosseum, not very far at all.
We found the staff to be very friendly and helpful and we would definately return to the hotel when we visit Rome again.
Tip - August is great time to vist as the city is empty so it's a tourist's playground. You just have to take it easy in the heat. Buy your drinks from the supermarkets as a can of soda can be as much as 6 Euros.

The hotel has nice facilities, although somewhat fared glorie. The personnel was rigid and generally not overtly friendly or helpful, although there were a few positive exceptions. The bill for lunch was erroneously increased. This is really not a 4 star hotel.

The hotel was really only a 3 star. The room was bland and the en-suite bathroom smelled quite bad at times. Also, the view was of the generator which was noisy and smelly too. The breakfast was uninspired and the staff quite miserable. The pool was lovely which saved the stay for us. We spent too long waiting for a courtesey bus to take us into Rome and then people would push in and not everyone would get on.

After a stay in middle of Paris, we wanted someplace a little secluded on our trip to Rome. This hotel stood out because it had awesome amenities was away from the noise and dirt of the city. The room is exceptionally comfortable and has a great view into a villa. We didn't use the pool, but it was always inviting us.

The restaurant and bar are nice, but ridiculously priced, and it is inevitable you'll use them because there is no easy way to get to a store to buy food. The morning buffet is nice, but make sure you get down before 10:30, or else there will be nothing left. They start to pack up promptly.

My biggest complaint with this hotel is the shuttle. On paper, it seems convenient. The shuttle comes every half an hour or hour, but it always full. And getting there early doesn't matter, because people just push their way to the front of the line, no matter who gets there first. Italians, I suppose, don't appreciate the queue, so it was frustrating every time we had to get on. You start to look at the other guests to see if they look like they are going to try to jump ahead or not. If the shuttle gets overfull, then people can sit on one another or in the aisles. In the end, I felt more like cattle going to feed than guests on vacation. There was also confusion with a driver who told us to take the wrong shuttle, making us late for our train.

if you miss the shuttle, walking back is only for the adventurous. The road is nestled in walled villa, with very small sidewalks and many blind curves. We walked back once, and I was always on the lookout for a speeding car.

But once we were in the room, it was a nice, quiet stay. So this hotel is probably better for those who don't plan to do much site-seeing and are looking for a place to relax.
