Grand Hotel Tiberio was the worst part of our trip! The staff was rude and barely able to conceal their disdain. The room was definitely NOT a 4 star by any means, and whenever we made a request- it was ignored.

I can only assume that they don't like north American guests.

It was definitely NOT the Italy that I expected! Thank goodness everyone else and the city itself was so amazing! :)

Go to Rome! But don't stay at Grand Hotel Tiberio!

The price was, on face value, very competitive for a 4 start hotel, however, after one night we realised why. Firstly, the promised view did not exist (from any room, according to reception). We complained and were told by the night receptionist that this was only a 'request' even though we had papers to prove the description. He was totally unhelpful and disinterested, leaving a bad feeling with us from check in. We had no choice but to settle down for the night. The room had a threadbare carpet and you could hear a loud toilet flushing noise from the other rooms (and a view straight to an apartment block!). The manager in the morning was slightly more helpful by moving us to another room. She explained the view was in fact the window, no apology. Next room slightly better but paper thin walls.

The shuttle bus was free and useful for getting into town (except Sundays) but again customer service let this hotel down, the driver was rude when my partner disappeared for one minute to get a map from reception.

One asain guy on reception was friendly and helpful, as were the cleaners, otherwise this hotel was a real disappointment.

Next to a mainline station, but infrequent service out of hours. Had to walk twice, from nearest Metro 15mins away. Only views are across and into adjacent residential flats.
Carpet in our room looked tired.
Public areas and facilities are excellent. Breakfast also fab - as much as you can eat.
Front desk staff seemed to miss the customer service bit. Everything seemed rushed.
Would recommend it, with above caveats. Would not stay again myself, due to location.

We have stayed for three nights me, my husband and one couple (friends) and I would like to say that was not bad for the purpose we want.

Rome is so wonderful, romantic and a lot of places to see so we went to our room only for sleep and for breakfast (which was great).

We have arranged before to rent a car so the location of the hotel was not really a big problem for us because we did not walk or take cab (expensive!!) or bus/metro. But for others would be a problem because it is a bit far away from everything....

I would recommend it for business trip as a great location.

Last the hotel was average for me (small rooms-old made bathrooms - not really clean) and I rate it for 3* and propose immediate reconstraction (face-lift).

Also we booked it with a great deal at night so I think that It was everything we want for our wonderful trip in Rome.

I was breezing through Rome on my way to wedding in Sicily. Decided to stay here for two reasons: (1) was traveling alone (meeting my husband in Sicily) and didn't want to deal with noise/traffic of central Rome and (2) because I was determined to finally see the Sistine Chapel (after more than 5 visits to Rome). In the past, I have overslept (partying too late) and missed getting to the Sistine Chapel before the cut off time. Very short distance to Vatican ( I finally made it!) and in quiet neighborhood (read: no nightlife nearby). No metropolitana stop nearby (subway), but there is a commuter train station that is very close and you can transfer to the subway. Had a nice double room with terrace which had a decent view. Found food to be pretty good in the restaurant. Will definitely stay there again with my husband the next time we are in Rome.
