We got this 4 star hotel for £10 each per night room only.

The room was very small but fantastically decorated, 10ft head board about a million count egyptian cotton sheets and hydrotherapy power shower, massage thig amazing for the price we got it.

The staff are fantastic in there, funny, helpful everything you would want.

We looked on the room door and the price for our room per night was 500 euros.... we really did get a bargain.

We felt safe in the area, close to the spanish steps and trevi fountain, just amazing place loved every minute of it.

There is a bus stop right outside the hotel, get a 4 euro ticket for the day and you can use buses and metro. We just got on the bus and went to wherever it took us, we went everywhere it was fantstic.

Stayed here for three nights recently and was left extremely disappointed. We arrived late at night and were escorted to our 'delux' room which was only slightly bigger than a broom cupboard - it was dingy, and claustrophobic with a small bathroom complete with broken toilet seat and faulty light. I complained to the hotel manager and was eventually shown into another room (having waited about 20 minutes for the 1 consierge that covers the two interlinking hotels to arrive) which was also tiny and not worth the £166 per night we were being charged. We were finally shown into a junior suite, which was really just a regular sized double room, and which we could only have for one night so were moved to another room the following evening. In fairness to the staff they didn't charge us for this so called 'upgrade'. Getting a decent night's sleep was virtually impossible due to an extremely noisy air conditioning system in the room, and the fact that the room was located next to the maid's linen cupboard.

I don't normally write reviews but the experience at the Hotel Veneto was so below par that i feel compelled to write to warn off other travellers. This really isn't a four star hotel and it isn't even a three star hotel - avoid at all costs.

Dear Guest,
Thank you very much for sharing your impressions of your stay in our hotel. From your review we understand that your expectations were very very high… None of our room was nice or big enough for you. It seems very weird to us that the review just after yours, in the same dates of the journey, is complete opposite. We believe that you may be disappointed, we are sending our truest apologize for not being able to satisfy your requests and needs.
Best regards.
Benedetta Cavallini

Just arrived home from a 3 night stay at the Hotel Veneto - PLEASE PLEASE ignore bad reviews - it was lovely. Our room - 601 - was beautiful. It was very spacious, had everything you need (except kettle). We needn't have taken any toiletries, it was all there, and fully replenished if used. Bedding, and towels were changed daily. The outside spa bath was amazing - perfect for throbbing feet and aching leg muscles after walking for hours and miles. All staff we came into contact with were helpful and cheerful. Breakfast is what you would expect from continental style. There was plenty of choice, and being help yourself you could sit and eat and eat if you wished. We didn't feel hungry until late at night. The hotel is situated in a quiet area so no traffic noise. It is not as close to some attractions as you would think from the map, however the open top tour bus was great. We did walk to the Spanish Steps, which took 15 minutes. Also walking you find some hidden gems, beautiful churches and lovely little restaurants. We did walk back form the Vatican, but this was done over a few hours, stopping to see other major attractions such as the Pantheon, market square and Trevi Fountains, and of course for the odd cappuccino or glass of wine. All I can say is that everyone should visit Rome once in their lifetime, it was amazing.

Stayed for three nights in September after booking offer on Last.Minute.com. Previous reviews on Trip Advisor left me slightly apprehensive but I should not have been. This hotel ticked all of our boxes when looking for a reasonably priced hotel in a good location. This hotel has comfortable rooms, good continental breakfast and very helpful staff who spoke great English. The rooms are not huge but this city is thousands of years old, what do you expect! If you want a larger room then go for an anonymous corporate hotel but for us the room had everything we needed. We booked the hop on hop off bus before we got to Rome and pretty much used it as our public transport for 2 whole days as there is a stop virtually outside the hotel. The Trevi fountain and Spanish Steps are easy walking distance, Metro steps only few minutes away. Helpful reception staff recommended inexpensive local restaurants to us and we also enjoyed restaurants in Trastevere. Rome is a fab place to visit, public transport is easy to use and inexpensive and I would thoroughly recommend this hotel

Oct 19, 2009 | Trip type: Friends getaway

We arrived at the Hotel Veneto at 9 am exhausted after an 8 hour flight from the US and were RUDELY told that they did not have a room for us. It seemed from the way they handled us that they routinely overbook and force people to an inferior hotel and pocket the pre-paid money. We were furious!!!!!!!!! We had done a ton of research in selecting our hotel and to be told that in spite of having a reservation (which was pre-paid) that no rooms would be available in the hotel for the 4 days we had planned is unacceptable. We were not given any explanation except they didn't have a room. That's it! They put us in a cab to a dump of a hotel and were forced to stay they for the entire trip. Never book with them!!!!!!!
