I found the website pictures to be very misleading! The rooms are TINY, TINY, TINY!! We booked this hotel for a 7 day stay and could not even unpack our suitcases because there was no dresser, no drawers, and only 3 hangers. And the minibar (which gave off tremendous heat) is in the armoire which also included the safe, thus there is no room to hang anything. The only nice thing I can say about the room was the rain shower, but the shower itself was also tiny.
The breakfast staff was pleasant, however the front desk staff was very unfriendly and cold, unwelcoming.
Also, the hotel is not located as closely to the Spanish Steps (and other sites) as the website would have you believe.
We also got ripped off by the taxi driver taking us from the train station to the hotel, charged us 20 euro, should only be 10-15.
We did not spend a lot of time in the room, however I expected much more and did not look forward to going to the hotel each night.
All in all I would not recommend this hotel.

Dear Guest,

in order to respond to your review I am here to apologize if you didn't feel so comfortable during your stay. You stayed with us for 7 days and during all this period nobody reported us your complaints so I am just wondering if you told somebody how you were feeling.
We have so many armoires to put into the rooms and maybe if we knew, we would have changed youraccomodation for a bigger one, or we would have given more hangers...
I am so sorry that you didn't look for me or that you didn't feel friendly with our staff, maybe if you tried to be more confident with them, your stay could have been more pleasant. Hoping to have the chance to show you all our hospitality, I send you my

We had made a booking through ebookers in January for our stay end of May for 5 nights. As we missed our connecting flight due to delays, we arrived a day later. After sleeping only a couple of hours in Germany we were happy to get to the hotel. However, we were told that we the hotel was fully booked, and we had to go to another hotel for a night, but that as a compensation we would get a suite for the last three nights. I was very frustrated as I had e-mailed with the hotel just a before our arrival and asked if everything was ok, as this was the trip when we were planning to get engaged. And our booking was made monhts in advance!!!
After refusing to move to another hotel, we were given tiny room of 2,5 m x 3 m and again we were promised a suite to compensate our troubles. Of course, pure lies! Our new room was just a regular room and when we asked about the suite, we were simply told that they were all full. No apologies, nothing.
One male employee working in the reception must be the unfriendliest receptionist I have ever met (around 50 years old, looking over his glasses if he even bothered to look at you). There were many examples how unkind he was, for example an elderly couple got stuck in a hot lift for quite a while (it was 30 degrees and the did not even have lights), but there were even no appologies by him.
All in all, do not choose this hotel! There must be better and friendlier options. Rome is romantic city and we did get engaged, but Hotel Veneto was just very unpleasant experience. It definetely does not deserve 4 stars, as the rooms also need renovation.

Dear Guest,

in reference to the review left about your stay at the Hotel Veneto I am here to show you all my astonishment because I didn't know anything about your big disappointment. Usually when our guests need help they come to our customer care dp and explain their problem: in your case I could be helpful by giving you a room with a bigger wardrobe with more drawers/hangers.
Sometimes for us is very difficult to be helpful to you that's why we always invite you to inform us about every need you may have.
In reference to the touristic places close to the Hotel I inform you that maybe you had problems in recognizing the streets because if you take a satellite map you are able to see that the spanish steps, the trevi fountain are very close to us. Next time I suggest you to ask the staff some help and right directions and I assure you that you will have a very good stay!
Best regards

We always check the reviews on tripadvisor before our holidays, and this time my husband and I (on our honeymoon) were slightly concerned by some previous guest comments.

However we found the hotel had great staff who were always very friendly and happy to help, the room was very clean and decorated nicely, breakfast was good, the mini bar was reasonably priced, the shower was great with jets (no bath though which did not bother us), the car from the airport that the hotel offered to organise was good value and took the hassle out of the transfer, and even with an internal facing room (No. 126) - yes there was no view - but the room was quiet and air conditioned.

The hotel is 5 mins from the Hard Rock Cafe and Via Veneto and a great location for seeing the sights, 10 mins walk from the Trevi fountain!

I would recommend this as a reasonably priced hotel to base yourself for a trip to see Rome. However I would mention that we are a couple who are out and about most of the time and do not spend much time in the hotel favouring sightseeing at every opportunity.

Fantastic staff contributed to making our 5 nights stay a most memorable one! Nice and clean hotel. Our only objection was the size of our room, but that was of minor importance. Excellent location for exploring many of the wonderful sights, and the Metro at walking distance. We never regretted having chosen Hotel Veneto and hope to be back!!!

Hotel Veneto is such an ideal place to stay... a few blocks from Via Veneto - quite a nice strip with famous Cafes such as "Cafe De Paris", the cafe where Valentino & Giancarlo started the legacy of the label!

The front desk was very helpful, esp. the concierge, Ilaria - who booked all of my tours during my entire stay with them (tours of Rome, shopping, restaurants etc). Traveling alone, I felft very secure and well taken care of. Their breakfast staff and evening bartender(s) were also very hospitable.

I will certainly be back, bringing along some friends & will most probably stay at Hotel Veneto again.
