Hotel Veneto is such an ideal place to stay... a few blocks from Via Veneto - quite a nice strip with famous Cafes such as "Cafe De Paris", the cafe where Valentino & Giancarlo started the legacy of the label!

The front desk was very helpful, esp. the concierge, Ilaria - who booked all of my tours during my entire stay with them (tours of Rome, shopping, restaurants etc). Traveling alone, I felft very secure and well taken care of. Their breakfast staff and evening bartender(s) were also very hospitable.

I will certainly be back, bringing along some friends & will most probably stay at Hotel Veneto again.

My husband and i recently stayed at Hotel Veneto and while it was a fantastic location, the hotel was disappointing. The hotel's official website and the holiday website used to book it grades it as a 4 star hotel but i feel that it was 3 star. Our room did not meet the 4 star rating as it was very small, cramped and dark and overlooked the interior of the hotel. Although our bathroom was clean, there was no bath but only a tiny shower. Some of the decoration was very much outdated.

I have no complaints about the staff; they were very courteous, helpful and friendly and always answered our questions. We complained about our taxi driver who drove us to the hotel and he charged us a whopping 30 euros for a 5 minute journey! The member of staff on duty immediately rang the taxi firm however nothing could be done as we did not have the code/reference number for this particular taxi driver and is accomplice (yes there were two of them, very intimidating when we refused to pay the ridiculous fare and locked the doors when we wanted to get out. They refused to let us check the meter and demanded the 30 euros. We were so shocked with this behaviour so just paid and got out very quickly! Really bad experience!

The hotel is in a great location, near the Trevi fountain and Spanish Steps and we really enjoyed the open bus tour. It's in a very safe and clean area however the bars and restaurants were very pricey! Most evenings we were paying over the odds for a bottle of house wine and beer. On our last evening we got chatting to a lovely guy who worked on the open tour buses who recommended that we go to Travestere. We did and found some fantastic bars and restaurants in this area and paid below 40 euros!

The breakfast was served with lovely coffee, fresh fruit, cheese, cereals and bread rolls and lots more. My only big disappointed was our room which i felt was tiny, poky and lacked so much. We asked if we could change our room however were told we would have to pay an extra 50 euros ! However if you are not too concerned about rooms, then this hotel is a great location for all the brilliant sights. Be prepared to pay high prices for food and alcohol though, if you want to stay in Veneto!

Once again my biggest gripe was paying over the odds for a room that was most certainly 3 star and not 4 star!!

This hotel has everything you need from friendly polite staff to lovely clean rooms and a great location for all the main attractions in Rome. It's only a 10 min walk to the Trevi fountain and similar to the Spanish steps. We visited as a family group with my parents. My mum uses a wheelchair for distance walking and we did need it. We found some of the streets were not wheelchair friendly but with 5 able and willing bodies in the group we managed just fine. The bar prices in the hotel are pricey so we ventured out each evening. Shame really because the hotel bar was beautifully decorated providing lovely surroundings. It was rarely used. We likes Friends bar for cocktails free food with drinks be prepared to pay 7 euros for cocktails/spirits...that's if you sit down...if you stand up to drink it's one euro cheaper! We sat....the waiter brought us "snakes" and "cheaps" that's snacks and crisps of course. There's a great pizza place across the road from Friends. We ordered pizza and got a starters of very fresh spaghetti and pasta with parmesan, our individual pizzas very freshly made coz we watched him make them! , a big glass filled with fresh fruit and a pancake with "ciao" written in chocolate on it. 80 euros for six of us!
Our rooms were all in the Veneto part of the hotel. The hotel is linked to the Romanico Palace which is the facade you see on the internet photograph...a bit misleading if you don't realise. I have to say that none of us were disappointed by the Veneto. Breakfast was served with lovely coffee, cappuccino, espresso or american. Fresh fruit, choice of cold meats, cheese, yogurts, cereals, fruit juice, croissants, toast and cakes. We were given an information leaflet each day with weather forecast, welcome note and suggestions of what to do in Rome. There is a mini bar in the room most items were 3 euros. Complimentary toiletries are re-stocked as soon as they are used. We had a fabulous time. The staff were very helpful whenever we approached for information, advice, taxi service etc. The roof garden is lovely too. You need to cross through the link corridoor next to reception, through the bar of the Romanico and take the lift to the seventh floor. Worth it for the view, have breakfast there or just a nice relax. We were lucky enough to have good weather too.

Me and my boyfriend have just recently come back from Rome staying for 5 nights at the Hotel Veneto. To keep it short we found the reception staff very rude and when asked if there was an iron we could use for an hour we were told that iron's were forbidden in the hotel. I found it unbelievable that a 4* hotel did not allow iron's so we went out and bought one. Also when we first checked into the hotel my boyfriend asked the receptionist whether he spoke English, his reply was English when you are in Italy!

Like the other reviews on Trip advisor our room was very small but clean. The other staff like the bar man, breakfast waiters and the cleaners were all very polite. If I had to compare this hotel to the standard in England I would rate this Hotel as a 3*. It was definitely not a 4* hotel. Premier Travel Inns are better quality and more equipped than this hotel.

Dera Guest,

thank you for informing us about your recent stay here at the Hotel Veneto.
I feel very sorry that you didn't get the service hoped but please, allow me to explain a couple of things:
first of all it has not up to us to decide if irons are allowed or not, we have to respect the national law and this is the reason why we offer a 24 hours loundry service.
Regarding the staff, maybe you got wrong regarding his way to be: his way of joking has been misunderstood by you: of course that everybody here is able to understand and speak in english! Anyway, I really would appreciate to take care of you in case you will plan another trip to Italy. I will assure you all my best care and assistance for any further need.

Yours Sincerely
Ilaria Lucani

I recently stayed in the Hotel Veneto, and while it was in a beautiful location, the hotel itself was a disappointment. The hotels official website, and the website I booked it through classed it as a 4 star, but I feel the room we were staying in was well below this.

Our room was small, and cramped, with a view into the interior. Bizarrely, the room had no bedside lighting, just a strong and unflattering light above the bed. The bathroom, was clean but small, and very grubby in terms of decor. I couldn't help but feel I'd taken a step back in time to the 80's throughout my entire stay. Maybe it is a case of you get what you paid for, but the room we were in was not cheap.

The staff were lovely, especially in the bar. Very friendly and warm which was a nice contrast to most Italians.

I would suggest that anyone seriously considering booking this hotel bare in mind that the hotel classification system in Italy bares little resemblance to other countries and only covers facilities. My biggest issue was, I was paying 4 star prices for a room that was 3 if not 2 star.
