This hotel has everything you need from friendly polite staff to lovely clean rooms and a great location for all the main attractions in Rome. It's only a 10 min walk to the Trevi fountain and similar to the Spanish steps. We visited as a family group with my parents. My mum uses a wheelchair for distance walking and we did need it. We found some of the streets were not wheelchair friendly but with 5 able and willing bodies in the group we managed just fine. The bar prices in the hotel are pricey so we ventured out each evening. Shame really because the hotel bar was beautifully decorated providing lovely surroundings. It was rarely used. We likes Friends bar for cocktails free food with drinks be prepared to pay 7 euros for cocktails/spirits...that's if you sit down...if you stand up to drink it's one euro cheaper! We sat....the waiter brought us "snakes" and "cheaps" that's snacks and crisps of course. There's a great pizza place across the road from Friends. We ordered pizza and got a starters of very fresh spaghetti and pasta with parmesan, our individual pizzas very freshly made coz we watched him make them! , a big glass filled with fresh fruit and a pancake with "ciao" written in chocolate on it. 80 euros for six of us!
Our rooms were all in the Veneto part of the hotel. The hotel is linked to the Romanico Palace which is the facade you see on the internet photograph...a bit misleading if you don't realise. I have to say that none of us were disappointed by the Veneto. Breakfast was served with lovely coffee, cappuccino, espresso or american. Fresh fruit, choice of cold meats, cheese, yogurts, cereals, fruit juice, croissants, toast and cakes. We were given an information leaflet each day with weather forecast, welcome note and suggestions of what to do in Rome. There is a mini bar in the room most items were 3 euros. Complimentary toiletries are re-stocked as soon as they are used. We had a fabulous time. The staff were very helpful whenever we approached for information, advice, taxi service etc. The roof garden is lovely too. You need to cross through the link corridoor next to reception, through the bar of the Romanico and take the lift to the seventh floor. Worth it for the view, have breakfast there or just a nice relax. We were lucky enough to have good weather too.
