“Great Value”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 16, 2014

If you are looking for a clean place to sleep close to all the sights and a subway station then this hotel definitely does the job. We booked the room with the private bathroom. It was spacious and modern. The bed was comfortable. You could tell they actually cleaned the room (like wiping down coffee tables) instead of just making the bed which was nice. Victoria was a great hostess always eager to help with your bags up and down the stairs. I just have to point out though that my allergies were absolutely horrible after sleeping 1 night here. I woke up with my eyes all puffy and nose stuffy. I can't comment if it would be any different at any other Hotel in Rome because I have not stayed anywhere else and all the buildings are very old in Rome. If you don't have any issues with allergies than you will have a comfortable stay here. Remember to email the hotel in advance to let them know what time you will arrive because there is not someone on site 24/7.

Room Tip: Book the room with the private bathroom otherwise you will have to share a bathroom with other guest...

I searched forever for a nice, clean place to stay in Rome. BDB is it! The majority of other places/hotels I searched through online at $100.00+ USD a night seemed run-down, and their bad reviews supported it. BDB while not a typical hotel (no staff on site at night) was great. They answered my emails in advance of stay promptly and confirmed staff would be on location upon our arrival. I printed out their direction sheet from their website but didn't need it because our cab driver knew exactly where it was. And dropped us off right in front. So, finding it was not a problem. The person on site was so kind and carried are 2 large and 1 small roller bags up the strairs for us and took them down again when we checked out. We reserved a twin room which had the bathroom outside of room but it was only a few steps away. The room was on the small side but that is to be expected, it is Rome afterall and it's the same with any big city like NYC etc., the beds are really comfy with great pillows, big window, air-con, and fridge to chill water all made coming back after a long day out on the town nice. The bathroom was large, modern and nice. Most importantly things were very clean. The only note is that the auto-lights in the hallway going from room to bathroom didn't always go on at night so you would have to struggle to unlock the door in the dark. But we quickly solved that one with our iphone flashlight app. They have a coffee machine on site to use any time of day you need a pick me up and the breakfast meal tickets worked well with the restaurant 2 doors down. Finally, BDB location is perfect! It's really central to everything and minutes from Spanish Steps which was really nice for walking from there to dinner at night.

Staying in town made for a charming Italian experience as did the wonderful host we had, Victoria, who even carried some of our bags up the stairs. The accommodation is not a hotel therefore you need to let them know what time you will arrive so they can check you in (they do not live on site). I'm not sure whether they can accommodate very late check-ins, you would need to ask about this. Apart from that, the room we had was very comfortable - they provide robes and slippers. The bathroom was large and luxurious though detached from the room we stayed in (only across the hall) but this is why the price was so reasonable. The bathroom is private to the room and can be locked with a key. In the room the shutters open to the laneway where you can see the other Italian buildings with shutters and enjoy an Expressi looking out over the activity below. Victoria showed us how to use the complimentary coffee machine so we could have an Expressi when we arrived. She also showed us places on the map to visit and the grocery store since there is a communal kitchen. They make up the rooms and even hung the clothes I had strewn over the bed which made it a more organised chaos to come back to after a day touring Rome. Everything is a close enough walk (the Spanish Steps are especially close) and the location is in the old part of Rome with lots of cobbled streets and cute laneways. I would actually book the same accommodation if I ever get to stay in Rome again. Thanks Victoria!

Stayed at this place on April for a 3 day trip as a present for my birthday! We had everything around Spanish steps,Fontana di Trevi restaurants, bars, transportation, shops and famous designers shops within a few minutes walk!I t is not exactly Luxury but is very clean very quiet although being in the center and offers coffee which you can make inside the room or in the kitchen which is common for the 3 rooms this place has to offer and has an espresso machine as well! The bed is really comfortable and there is lots of storage places as well! The room also has a very small kitchenette if you want to cook something easy and refrigerator as well and a large bathroom(we stayed at the room with its own bathroom the other two share one)..We did not start well as were locked outside the toilet the first day(Birthday day)and could not find Vitoria as she was away and did not answer(no 24hour reception but arrange check in-out easily)and we could not use it for the morning and waited for 3hours for her to arrive but although the bad start(I was really upset)she hugged me and said how sorry she was but had a problem and by the time we returned to the room at night she had left a bottle of sweet sparkling wine for us and chocolates for my birthday and to cheer me up!So kind of her really I guess accidents happen!

Room Tip: If you want a private bathroom only one is offered the other two share one!Can arrange check in and...

The location of the apartment was perfect for getting around. It was very secure and it only took us a few minutes to get to restaurants, bars and the metro stop to get around and see the sights. Great trip.

Accommodation unit tourist center of Rome. Close to most attractive sites of Rome. Excellent service and a host of Vitoria. Rich room fittings. Very convenient. Located next to an excellent cafe and a small grocery store attached. Value over and above the money paid.

We appreciated the central location, and the nice neighboohood. A 5 minute walk from the main attractions. Our room was spacious and comfortable. We felt right at home. A big thankyou to our host who welcomed us and provided some helpful advice that enabled us to make the most of our very short stay. Great coffee in the room and for breakfast.

Room Tip: Its best to take the suite with the private facilités.
