“Perfect Retreat for Rome”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 20, 2013

We have just returned from our honeymoon in Rome, 4 nights at which we spent at The Berg. Our room was a deluxe double (excellent deal on Venere.com) and located on the 3rd floor. The building is quite discreet from the outside and located between the Via Veneto and Spanish Steps. We were easily able to walk to all the main attractions of Rome from here, but the Metro is just a 5 min walk away.
Our room was spacious, modern, cool and airy. The street is quiet which is a plus for central Rome. Staff very friendly and helpful and our room was refreshed every day to a very high standard.
Whilst this certainly isn't the cheapest hotel in Rome, it does offer excellent value for money in terms of style and location. We will definitely be returning! The only minor criticism was the high breakfast cost. We found numerous cafes nearby for a coffee and croissant but a more reasonable on-site cost would have encouraged us to eat here.

Stayed 4 nights at this hotel. It's off the beaten track in Rome and when you arrive not much to look at. However once inside the black marbled reception area with the warm greetings and responses you are put at ease.
The room waa excellent ,big kingsize bed, very comfy plus large flat screen televison showing numerous satelite chnnels. The ensuite is excellent with two wash basins plus a wet room, shower plus.Rooms are cleaned every day and the hotel staff at reception couldnt be more helpful. Breakfast I would say is more 3 than 4 star and if you like tea? you'll be disappointed. Hot water in a small jug is their idea of tea. Could do better. In addition if you want a 'cooked' breakfast , say an omelette, cheese toastie etc that is an extra cost! Also be aware that on leaving you will be charged 6 Euros tax per day on top of your bill (We were advised when querying this charge that it was introduced 2 years ago for all hotels and for all hotel guests (not impressed) We left early before breakfast 6.30 am (breakfast starts at 7.30am) but were not offered any refreshment...very poor.
All in all though a nice hotel, enjoyed our stay and the staff are very friendly and helpful, but a few little 'customer tweaks' such as informing guests of the daily Euro tax up front and how difficult is it to make a good cup of tea and offer a simple omelette without charge?

Room Tip: Rooms seem to be large with all having kingsize beds but when booking ask about this extra charge!

The hotel was selected by our excellent Travel Agent; Full Circle Travel. The hotel is so discreetly sited you would pass it by. But the interior is designed to the best effect. The room was SO chic, with wonderful lighting arrangements, a large and comfortable bed and a shower to die for; the jet sprays and drencher were very relaxing after a hard day site seeing. It was a perfect room to drop out of the city and into quiet and comfort; loads of space too.

One very Italian moment: they forgot our wake up call prior to an early morning tour - oops nearly missed the tour! Take your own alarm.

Room Tip: Book the up graded room(s) third floor 301 was one such

I have been to this hotel last april
it's the first week of april and it was easter.
the building was not that big but it's really nice.
very comfortable location, very big rooms, very clean.
the interior deisgn was awsome but i think it's a lil bit dark..
they must put more lights in it..
the only thing i didn't like was the breakfast.
it was a poor breakfast and so expensive.. 18 euro for a poor breakfst is not a good thing.
all the stuffs of the hotel are so kind and intelligent especially the receptionists and the student interns, good choice of choosing them.. thumbs up for them. They amazed me, they were so fast doing their jobs. we checked in, only in a while unlike the other hotels we need to wait for half an hour to be checked in...
they took good care of us and i have nothing to say but thank you, i enjoyed my stay in Rome thanks to this hotel.

To be at the heart of the city, in a very modern room, assisted by a friendly and efficient staff (Massimo and all the personal of the hotel)... I do not have a regret about Berg Luxury. You can not imagine by looking it from the street what a wonderful place it is. The hotel does not have a restaurant but offers a first rate complementary breakfast that keep you going on for most of the day. And then side by side to the hotel you have a great place to eat, so I am rating it as part of the hotel, because it works as if it was for me. But if you want to skip some dinner o come late you have a small cafeteria two blocks away that is very good too. Or walk some blocks to the luxurious (and expensive) Via Aurora. Inside the hotel, I enjoyed the arrangement of the rooms, the very modern bathroom, and made an escape to visit the "azotea" which gave me the pleasure to take a look at the inner life of the city and remember my natal Havana. Walking distance to Spanish Steps, several other spots, shops, and very well communicated by bus or long walk to the metro. Thanks to Livingsocial for a great deal and to Massimo that made us to feel at home from the beginning.I dream to go back again. Unforgettable.

I chose this hotel over the Internet and was thrilled when we got there and saw it. Our room was bigger and more luxurious than our friends' suite at the Marriott two blocks away. The neighborhood is great just off the Via Veneto. The concierge was great for suggesting restaurants in the area

Our family of 7 had the privilege of staying at the Berg Luxury for 7 nights and our experience was extremely unforgettable. Massimo/ Alberto and the entire team were most helpful to all our needs and requests. The suites were large, new and well appointed. Room amenities are first class. The breakfast was exemplary- kudos to Perdy ( gentleman who attended to us every morning). The location is superb- just around the corner from Via Venetto, eight minute walk to Piazza Espagna, and 5 minutes away from Villa Borghese. A number of excellent restaurants all around the hotel to pick from- Italian Cafes, Trattorias, and Asian as well. We highly recommend the Berg Luxury and we are certainly looking forward to our return.

Sincerely,

Juan Miguel Arcenas
