We stayed for 6 nights at the Teatro di Pompeo and we cannot say enough good things about this hotel.
To sum it up: the location is very central (Piazza Navona and Pantheon are 10 minutes away, the Colysseum is 20 minutes away and the lovely market on campo dei fiori is one minute away...), the staff are very friendly (helped us after we lost our camera in a cab, advising us on restaurants...), the room was big and comfortable. The breakfast room is unique in the ancient theater...
I will go back to this hotel after other more less fortunate experiences in Rome. Did I mention the price was moderate (for a city like Rome anyway)?

I stayed in this hotel for 3 nights in the beginning of October. I was not happy with this hotel and would never stay here again OR recommend to anyone.

PROS: 1) Campo de Fiori is a very central location if you intend to walk to all the sights in Rome. It is possible to walk to all the sights BUT it is a lot of walking. Trevi Fountain Pantheon, & Piazza Navona is less than 10 min walk from hotel. Colosseum, Vatican City, Spanish Steps are 15 min walk from hotel. It is a 25Euro taxi ride from Termini train station to this hotel. 2) This hotel does have a reasonable price for Rome but you get what you pay for. 3) The breakfast area is unique. 4) Bathrooms are clean.

CONS: 1) Campo de Fiori is a very dirty area in Rome. The area is full of graffiti, very loud, and trash pilled everywhere. I did not enjoy walking in this area. Also, Piazza Campo de Fiori is nothing special. 2) No FREE Wi-FI, its 5cents a min. 3) Night reception staff is unfriendly. I didn't want to ask questions because they were rude. 4) Rooms are small and walls are PAPER THIN. I didn't get any sleep in this hotel, you can hear EVERYTHING. The rooms face a parking lot, alley, and restaurant. Its VERY noisy. Also, you can hear everything from other rooms, even people talking. The beds are very hard and were difficult to sleep on. 5) The room was fairly clean but very old. The bedspread looked ancient and I didn't want to use it as a cover. Too dirty. I had to walk up 2-3 flights of narrow stairs carrying my luggage. I also had to walk past 2 large trash cans INSIDE to walk up the stairs. The smell was unbelievably FOUL. I had to hold my breath and run up the stairs. This was the most disgusting thing I've ever seen in a hotel. Overflowing trash indoors stinking up the entire hall and stairwell. I included a picture of this. I stayed in the Annex which is a separate building than the main hotel. Stairs may not be an issue in main hotel but noise level is the same. 6) We had a very early flight out of Rome and booked the car from the hotel to airport. It was a 30 min ride and we got there on time. Just be prepared that the driver does not speak very good English. We had to stop at a few terminals before we found the right airline. Just glad it was at the right airport. And the price for this trip is very pricey. I paid 65Euro for the trip to airport.

Probably the best all round hotel near Campo de' Fiori, which is probably the best area of Rome. I stayed for only one night as they were otherwise full, which is no surprise. The location is excellent and the building itself is ancient (in a good way) and full of history. Rooms are simple but nicely decorated with beautiful dark wood and antiques, and gorgeous beamed ceilings. Bathrooms are really good by Rome standards - spotlessly clean with great showers and good water pressure, and miraculously, none of that whiff of drains that you get in old buildings in the centre of Rome. Good strong air conditioning (which I needed even in October) and a handy little mini-bar. The breakfast is superb and served downstairs among the foundations of the ancient Roman theatre of Pompeo - hence the name.

My only quibble is that some of the rooms (I was in room 11) face onto the internal stairwell and have no windows to the outside, so they're dark and gloomy even in mid-afternoon. There is no roof terrace here, unlike many Roman buildings, so don't plan on spending much time at the hotel. That said, there is a nice, inviting lounge area with a few computers to use and big comfy chairs.

It's not particularly cheap, but it is still extremely good value for an increasingly expensive city. You probably can't do better for the price.

We love Rome and this was our fourth visit to this great city. We found this hotel to be in a good location for all the sights. Campo di Fiore is very close and an interesting place to wander around, day and evening. The room was spacious, clean, and quiet, and comfortable. The staff was always very pleasant and eager to help with any information we requested. They made dining suggestions and arranged for a driver to take us to the airport, etc. Breakfast was ready at 7:00 am which is early for Italy but well appreciated. All in all, it was a pleasant place to be.

The Hotel Teatro Di Pompeo is centrally located in Rome. You could walk everywhere. Piazza Navona was only a 5/10 minute walk and the cafes of Piazza Campo de'Fiori were steps away from the hotel. The rooms were very cozy and the staff was very friendly. Lastly, the breakfast included hard boiled eggs, which is hard to come by in Europe. My husband and I really enjoyed our stay here and would stay again.
