Just returned from a lovely short break in Rome and we couldnt have chosen a better hotel.There were 6 of us travelling as a family and we were given 3 rooms over in the annexe across the street. This was absolutely no problem. The rooms were quite small but perfectly adequate for a good nights sleep after a long day sightseeing. The main thing is they were spotlessly clean. The staff were the nicest friendliest and most helpful we have come across on our travels and the smiling waitress who served the lovely cappucino each morning was very pleasant. We would definately recommend Hotel Italia to our friends. Thank you to all the staff for our lovely stay,

The hotel has a good location within 15 minutes walking distance from the train station, and is a good starting point for exploring different areas of Rome. The staff is friendly and helpful. The rooms are quite small, and for me the bed was somewhat short. The breakfast is ok, but quite simple. Overall, I think the hotel provides good value for your money.

Please do not stay at this place. They put us in a "broom closet" sized room across the street in another building. Walls were paper thin. Staff is rude. Accommodations horrible. They are liars and you can not trust them.......be very careful and think twice before you stay at this dump.

Spent two nights in March 2009 at Hotel Italia. It's not much from the outside, as there is just a small sign on the outside, and you have to go up to the second floor to the front desk. And if you return to the hotel later in the day, they have to buzz you up.

It appears that all the rooms are on one level. However, even though there is no grand lobby, the room itself was nice and actually larger than most hotel rooms in Europe that I've been in (Room #10). Bathroom was small, but that's typical of Europe. Breakfast is average. They do supply a computer in the dining area to check e-mails, so that is a plus. The staff was very friendly as well.

The hotel is located about 10 min from Termini and 10 minutes from the Coloseum. We took the subway to the Vatican, and taok a cab to the Trevi Fountain area, as it is a much longer walk.

This hotel is a hidden gem for travelers on a budget. I would definitely recommend to others. Thank you Hotel Italia
