I just returned from my trip to Rome with my family and parents, party of 6. Even though Tripadvisor had mixed reviews we booked two rooms through the internet.

The hotel is ideally located behing thr Forum so you are in the middle of the historic area, which was the purpose of our trip.

Upon an eraly arrival Katherine helped us in and told us that our rooms were not ready. I was expecting this, since we were at the hotel at 11:00 am . Nevertheless she gave us a couple of dinks coupons and great tips to get the true Rome experience.

After visisting the Capitolini Museum we returned to the hotel and katherine was there once again to greet us and handed us the keys to our rooms. We walked in and were pleasantly surprised to seee that we had been upgraded to the BEST rooms we've ever had.

During the next few days we would also meet Florina and Elena, who were also vety pleasing with all the members of our family.

This hotel has it all, Great Location, Great Rooms, Great Food & Beverage but their best asset they have is their staff.

We stayed at the Kolbe Hotel from the 8th to 12th June 2009. We booked it on the bass of trip advisor reviews and were not disappointed! The location is perfect, on the edge of the Forum, nowhere was too far to walk (even for me being 6 months pregnant). it is 2 minutes from Piazza Venizia and the Colosseum is less than a 5 minute walk. We were delighted with the location.
The staff were all friendly, helpful and polite. The hotel itself it clean, well kept and has a lovely garden and terrace to sit at outside.
The room was fantastic. A very large size for a capital city with great air con (it was 30 degrees and we needed it!) with a large, comfortable bed, great bathroom and all was very clean and brand new looking.
the breakfast was excellent, a full selection of pastries cooked fresh, fruits, bacon and eggs, breads and toast, hams and cheeses and pretty much anything you might want. Even better as the outside terrace to enjoy breakfast in the beautiful gardens.
IF you are after a centrally located, comfortable hotel with lovely modern rooms, then this hotel is perfect! i can't stress enough how much we enjoyed our stay.

We enjoyed a four night stay at the Kolbe in Rome. Our room was on the fourth floor overlooking the ruins surrounding the Circus Maximus and Colliseum. It's a short walk to the underground and many restaurants. The breakfast served each morning is first rate. The room is simple, clean and comfortable. The location is not central but in an interesting area for those who would like to walk through the ruins.

We booked the Kolbe Hotel Rome after reading other reviews. We planned to stay 4 nights but checked out after just 3. Upon our arrival we were subjected to the usual trick by some European Hotels of offering us the worst room in the Hotel first, it had no view, other than the kitchen yard, was very small and had plaster missing from around the door frame. After complaining we were offered another larger room with a view of the Gardens and was perfectly acceptable. Several requests were made of the Front Desk staff during our stay all of which where ignored until chased up. They seemed to be short staffed and busy training new staff. The only decent service provided was by Elena the rest did not seem interested. The location was good but the Hotel had no atmosphere whatsoever, the Bar closed at 11pm and we hardly saw any other guests in there anyway. We had an early checkout and wished to place an alarm call, the young man on the Front desk who took our call hung up on us before we had chance to request a continental breakfast for 6.30am as the Restaurant did not open until 7am. So we rang back again and he very casually said no problem and hung up again, sure enough when we presented ourselves at 6.30am for the continental breakfast he had failed to pass this message through to the Kitchen Staff who told us nothing could be prepared. All in all a clean modern 4 star Hotel in a excellent location for all the City of Rome sites but let down by poor staff.
