My stay in Astrid hotel was for business. I liked so much the business service they offer, Internet connection, news, renting car, etc..
The hotel is situated in a residential area near the center, in front of the Tevere river .
It's inside a big palace. I appreciated so much the terrace on the top. How can you forget a similar view??? Yes I reccomend this hotel!

“Very big hotel, but very "well-managed"”

We book a month before, after a prudent search.. The hotel isn't very close to the main center. You have to walk 20 minutes to reach Piazza Spagna, but anyway it's in a quite and nice discrict. The breakfst is very rich and wee-goomed.
Thanks a lot to the reception staff for all informations they gave us!!! ;-) When we travel we have always many questions!!!! Room was clean and roomy.

It's just off the beaten path, with easy access to the train..just a few blocks away...this takes you to the subway. The staff was very kind and courteous. Smaller rooms, but that's okay because you don't stay in your room very much in this city!

Terrific hotel! The staff was super friendly and made the stay very enjoyable. The rooms were plenty spacious for my wife and I and the minibar’s daily replenishment at no cost was a huge treat! We stayed in August and room temperature was very comfortable. Make sure you make it up to the breakfast in the morning…it’s a delicious way to start your day!

Our only tip…we had read here on tripadvisor that you take the Metro to Flaminio stop and then the #2 tram for 3 stops. That is correct with the exception of the tram info. It appears the #2 tram is currently undergoing some rehabilitation so you must take the #2 bus instead of the tram. Small detail but may save you some trouble during the tram rehab.

Can’t say enough good about this hotel. We hope to visit again soon!

“Great Experience!”

We stayed at Hotel Astrid from June 5th-9th,2009. Upon our check in, we received room on the 5th floor which was a large room with a great view. The only problem was the air conditioning. Therefore, we went to the reception where they tried to get the AC going but no luck. Therefore, they put us in a smaller room facing the courtyard, again no AC. Apparently, AC was not working in any unit on the 5th floor. We went back to reception and ended up with an excellent room on the 4th floor with an awesome view on St Peter's Basilica. We enjoyed our stay from there on. Here are some pros & cons of Hotel Astrid:

PROS:
- Large room with a view
- Safe & Fridge on location
- Clean facility
- Free Wifi
- Great service
- Free drinks in fridge replenished everyday!
- Excellent breakfast
- Next to the river, was a great place to run in the morning!

CONS:
- Location not the best, 30 mins walk from Flaminio station
- Noisy street, sleep with earplugs is a must.
- Small bathroom, tiny shower. No bathtub.

Dear Sir,
Thank you for taking the time to write a letter about the accommodations you
received at our hotel.
Guest satisfaction is the goal of
our management. We will do our best to meet that goal by improving and maintianing
our hotel in its best conditions.

First of all I want to apologize about the air conditioning: that day the 5th floor ac unit was not working and we had it fixed the day after.

About our location, let me underline that we are just 1 km away from the very centre of Rome and that there is a tramway that runs close to the Hotel, which brings you to Flaminio metro station in 5 minutes.

Concerning the noisy street you mentioned, please note that rooms with view face the street while rooms on the backyard are pretty quiet.

One last thing I would like you to know: beeing a eighteen century building our Hotel has some bathrooms larger than others and, for the same reason, not all rooms have a bathtub.
