I was terrified of this hotel because of bad reviews but after I have been there I can say that hotel is not that bad at all. There are two major disadvantages, it is very far from the city center, it takes about 5-6 bus stations + 5-6 metro stations to get to the center of Rome (30-40 min. and even longer by night). On the other hand there is a bus line no. 881 that takes you directly to the Vatican city. Second major disadvantage is that hotel is really, but I mean REALLY old. It looks like it is frozen in 1970's. However it is currently being renovated. Good things about this hotel are that rooms are spacious, relatively clean, hotel has garage parking which is free (that way you can save 30-40 EUR per day if you are coming to Rome by car), the personnel is very friendly and helpful and breakfast is really excellent. Considering very low price, I can recommend this hotel to budget travelers. They advertise this hotel to have 4 stars but in my opinion it is close to 2+ or 3 stars, even by European standards. This hotels definitely isn't the Hilton but it does the job.

I was scared to death of staying here because of the reviews, but was pleasantly surprised. The rooms were spacious and clean, and were quite comfortable to stay in. The staff at the front desk were quite helpful, and spoke English well. The internet is only in the lobby, and is very expensive- 4 Euro for 30 minutes! The breakfast was really good, and there was quite a selection of food. It was all high quality and fresh. The AC wasn't working while we were there, and the front-desk said it was because of the renovations. Other than that, it was far from the Termini train station- it takes 2 buses and 1 metro to get there (1 hour with waiting times). The bus doesn't go directly to the metro stop Cornelia as they say (the 881), you have to take another bus for 2 stops (the 791) in between. The buses run quite regularly, and a 1-Euro pass will last for 75 minutes on the buses and trains. The 881 bus right in front of the hotel goes directly to the Vatican City, and took less than 30 minutes.

There were restaurants about a 10-minutes walk away that were really cheap and good. We got a pizza big enough for 4 people for only 10-euro. Given that they charge you 4.50 for a latte in the Vatican, this was quite a relief on our budget! There was also a huge supermarket within walking distance where you can stock up on your Nutella. :-)

I would probably stay here again, if I paid what I paid last time. This hotel would probably compare to a Holiday-Inn in the US, a solid 3-star, MAYBE 3.5. The only drawbacks were the location and the internet-in-lobby thing.

We stayed here our last day of the trip and we wasted a tremendous amount of time with really bad directions.... We finally found the hideous green ugly hotel in the middle of NOTHING. Now, I really do mean NOTHING. We had already stayed in 2 other hotels outside of the city and they were both in walking distance of something, this was in a deserted area. The lobby was pretty and the front desk girl was friendly although we thought it was kind of funny that she kept confusing please and you're welcome. We did find a pizza place and icecream place we liked by the metro (metro is a bus ride from hotel- not walk) and the pizza guy spoke Spanish so we were set and the gelateria I can speak enough Italian. The hotel- well the room was fine. And breakfast was okay- the boyfriend complained, but I thought it was fine. When we asked where to go to eat they seemed to have some kind of set up where a local hotel would pick you up, free of charge, and I asked how much the restaurant was and she said "average, 30-45 euros a person". I think my boyfriend and I were going to faint. We passed, you can get food in the CITY at nice restaurants, all courses for 30 euros for 2! But if you're not price conscious, I bet it's pretty great. We went to this hotel because I got it for very, very cheap. Don't recommend this hotel. There are so many hotels- you can definitely find a better one

We booked this hotel for the last two nights of our backpacking excursion through Italy. We knew that it was some distance from central Rome, but we chose it because it promised a shuttle service to Fiumicino Airport and it claimed to be 4 stars - a nice treat after staying in hostels. It was a disaster from the start. We had trekked through Italy with absolutely no difficulty using the public transportation system - until it came time to find this hotel. The front desk kept telling us to use bus #881. Unfortunately, they neglected to tell us that 881 didn't stop directly in front of the Metro. We had to walk a mile through the rain on streets with no pedestrian walks to find a stop that 881 frequented. When we got to the hotel, we discovered that the shuttle service didn't run until 7:30 in the morning. Our flight left at 8:30, so the shuttle service was useless to us. Our room was disgusting. The bathroom door did not close. The fiberglass sink had deep brownish black gouges carved into it. The toilet flushed only if we leaned all of our body weight into the flushing mechanism. The 70's looking plywood built-in furnishings had chunks and splinters knocked out. The curtains looked as if they had been chewed on. The televison died 20 minutes after it had been turned on. Worst of all, we discovered that the hotel is frequently used by European school groups on their excursions to Rome. The entire hotel was overrun with adolescents running and screaming through the hallways, in the courtyard, and in the stairwells. The front desk did not attempt to stop them until about 1 in the morning - adding a new set of screaming voices to the mix. After the first night, we chose to check out a day early. I had pre-paid for two nights, but we decided to just let the money go. We were fully prepared to sleep sitting up at the airport instead, and if it weren't for a stroke of luck, that was exactly what we would have done.

The hotel was not clean, it was cold and totally run-down. The staff were pleasant, but for a 4 star hotel, we were most disappointed. Being winter it was cold, the room had not been cleaned properly after the previous customer.
My son remarked that it was a -4 star hotel.
